The Conservative Party

This Tory Government is toast at the next election. The latest it can be is 28th January 2025 so about another 14 months of these twats.

Labour will be elected with a huge majority some say even more than Blair.

How will Starmer fair, well he can't do any worse than this fcuking shower and he must have at least two bites of the cherry to try and make his mark on it.

One thing for sure no matter who gets in, won't implement HS2 (North) and HS3, that boat has well and truely been sunk. However the London centric folk will be able to live in some of the lovely midland areas and commute saving a whole 12 minutes off their current journey time. You really couldn't make it up.

Having a government with a plan for country would be a massive relief we are just bumping along the bottom at the moment, the Tories know their time is up

I can’t see them cutting taxes in the Autumn statement, still a lot of work bringing inflation down to be done a tax cut would unravel all that.
Pretty sure there will be some kind of tax cut somewhere but more will come in March. Doubt they will make much difference either to peoples pockets or their poll ratings though.

They are absolutely going to cut some taxes, the only question is which ones. It had looked like IHT was going to get a cut - either reduced rate or increased caps - but now that looks off the table. (Thankfully, because that was a fucking terrible idea, in that only a small number of people who are already relatively well off would benefit).

Personally, I hope he just raises the personal allowance so that everyone earning less than £125k benefits. (You don't get any personal allowance at all anyway if you earn more than that.)

whatever they are going to do its decided already regardless of what anyone suggests or asks for as if you recall the OBR say they need about a week to prepare their report - they know what happens if you hold a fiscal event with nothing from the OBR to back its up its lettuce time again so the OBR data and report will have been with Hunt since the middle of last week and there will be no changes now in time for next Wednesday

Ah, Tate and Lyle - the only big firm to advocate Brexit, so they could import more sugar cane, and currently trying to break the collective NFU deal for British beet sugar.

1992 all over again.

Temporary tax cuts to bribe people into voting for them.
Every 5 years all over again. Bribing (or trying to bribe) the electorate is standard behaviour for every government, Labour and Tory, for the past like, er, forever.
