I was about 15 waiting in line to get in the Kippax near the Platt Lane when a bunch of much older pissed up Geordies started mithering people , their leader a huge fat clunt was getting really nasty with old men and young lads.

One lad passing put the Geordie on his arse with one punch, the rest legged it, he was one of the Kool Kats and I am eternally grateful for his intervention, it could get very intense in those days even at home games kids.

A much more measured response than the clown above. I've been in a few scrapes at away grounds but I still think football hooligans are arseholes. To me, anyone who goes out looking for a fight, just for the sake of it or to prove they're hard is an arsehole. And why wouldn't I say it to their faces ? What are they going to do ? Hit me ? Oh yeah. I forgot. They're hard ! Fucking arseholes !

What's the problem with it? They went looking to fight other people who were looking to fight. It's not like they started kicking the shit out of young kids with their parents.

If it wasn't football it'd be another banner they were marching under. I just find it bizarre that people seem to have any affinity with these types. I must be in the minority that thinks going out to an organised fight with other petty thugs is a silly thing to do. I must also be in the minority that didn't know or meet any of the "guvnors" in the 70s or 80s. In fact, I wouldn't know any of them if they punched me in the mouth. Although that would narrow it down a bit !

Ohh what a soft world you live in NICE NIEL, its just the way it was, nobodies saying its right. One thing thats never raised and could be a talking point in its own thread is that the NF had a following at City as well as all the other firms, and I have aaahh hemm been involved in a few skirmishes all over the country, and can vouch first hand that `Black or White` the City fans stuck together, i was witness to a few fights where our coloured bretheren and vice versa (NF) helped each other out in a backs to the wall situations..... Bloody odd but true
