This thread sounds eerily like the cockneys banging on about the krays. Everyone knows someone who knew good old Ronnie and Reggie. Salt of the earth. Only ever maimed and killed their own kind. Hearts of gold ! These people were called football hooligans but I prefer to call them hooligans. They're just trouble-makers who crave attention. If it wasn't football it'd be another banner they were marching under. I just find it bizarre that people seem to have any affinity with these types. I must be in the minority that thinks going out to an organised fight with other petty thugs is a silly thing to do. I must also be in the minority that didn't know or meet any of the "guvnors" in the 70s or 80s. In fact, I wouldn't know any of them if they punched me in the mouth. Although that would narrow it down a bit !

Ohh what a soft world you live in NICE NIEL, its just the way it was, nobodies saying its right. One thing thats never raised and could be a talking point in its own thread is that the NF had a following at City as well as all the other firms, and I have aaahh hemm been involved in a few skirmishes all over the country, and can vouch first hand that `Black or White` the City fans stuck together, i was witness to a few fights where our coloured bretheren and vice versa (NF) helped each other out in a backs to the wall situations..... Bloody odd but true

National Front at City

Following the thread about the Kool Kats One of the posters mentioned the NF had a big firm at City .Like most teams in the 70s City did have a firm that supported the NF & at times at away games it was a truly Massive firm not all follwed the NF but stuck together saftey in numbers ect ,some who went away, went around whoever they saw first KK or NF that was a fact of Life in the 70s .have to remember the NF was supported well in lots of towns & Citys across the country
