It was one of the earliest games shown on live TV, but Sky were not operating in 1984.
The 1st Sky live game was QPR vs City @ 1992 I believe.

I ended up at the front of that WHU firm as it was escorted by the police down Lloyd Street on the way back into town. They were constantly looking over their shoulders and scanning the side streets waiting for an impending attack from City fans which never came.
There was one particularly mouthy cockney twat shouting "Where are all the Norvern ****s" and "Keep it together West Ham" etc. I was itching to blindside the twat and give him a punch to the side of his napper ,but alas discretion got the better of me.
That and the fact that my Dad was alongside me and he always thought that I was a good father and husband in those days and not given to having punch ups with opposition fans. Oh and the fact that the WHU firm had 30/40 coppers around them as well.

I had parked down a side street just of Lloyd Street near to the Church so the WHU lot carried on into town surrounded by coppers,with Blues shadowing them all the way. Crazy but fantastic days.
