The Cost of watching City

Someone asked me to add up what I'd spent in a season. I got as far into the season as mid September and decided I didn't want to know.

As others have said, it's a great excuse to see places you wouldn't otherwise. Give it a try and once you're hooked, you'll find the money by sacrificing other things

When you break the cost of going to football it could easily be argued it is a waste of money. For example paying £60 pounds for Monday nights dross. Fortunately as a fanbase, were arguably the luckiest supporters alive as cumulatively the entire cost of attending for all these years was paid off by the 'Aguero moment'. We witnessed one of the most incredible sporting moments and based on our attachment to the club made that incredible moment even more special and unique.

For me its the cost of the match ticket and 70 quid in petrol each match. Too much really but too late to change now.

I'm not gonna post in here just to be that "I'm the biggest blue" look at me bollocks...

I'm far behind spending the most in the past few years as well i just don't go to as many aways anymore due to work and cost.

Rough estimate for the average season:

St: £600
Cup: £0 (opted out of cup schemes)
Travel to home games per season: £300
Food and drink at homes this season: £0 (stopped buying due to cost)
Away tickets: £300
Away travel: £1000
Away food/drink: £1000
Merchandise: £0

So works out around £3000+
Spent much more in previous seasons when I've travelled abroad, one match I spent over £1000 on booze and an hotel.

I'm laying claim to being 'the smallest blue' ...apart from beer money in my local watching the match....which I may well have been doing anyway. I don't take SKY or BT Sport, so no indirect contribution there.
My only investment is a small round enamel badge, £1.50 per season. Someone buys this for me.
Couple of times a season I get corpy jaunts to a game, and spend nowt. Only live in Blackley so I walk home.

I am one tight fker.

It is nothing to do with who spends the most money it is about how much it cost to get to the games nowadays

Ask some of the Irish lads. Crazy money thanks to fluctuating ryanair prices. I had to stop doing it due to cost.
