Pubs generally good but beer rubbish - try Donningtons and tell me i'm wrong. The area south of Stroud, close to Forest Green FC, is wonderful.
Have you tried Hook Norton beers - definitely not rubbish!
I hear Wayne Rooney's a big fan of Old Hooky.

Has Rooney slept with an old prostitute? I never knew that, shocked its never been mentioned on here.

It does get mentioned from time to time, although not nearly enough imo.

Not sure what that's got to do with his predilection for an estimable Oxfordshire beer though.

Northumberland is better.

Similar villages and countryside but without the overspill new build and council estates ruining everywhere.

Well yes, big fan of Northumberland too, at least every two years.

Go there a lot.

Alnwick,

Bamburgh

Dunstanburgh Castle

Amble

Cragside

Walkworth

ALMOST the correct spelling.

My late in-laws lived for a while in Shipton-under-Wychwood, about 7 miles south of Chipping Norton. Lovely village, the local a Hook Norton pub that kept a good pint. A lovely area - Burford and Witney close by, and loads to look at nearby. Trouble is, they moved back after 18 months to Hale.

Errr, no, I was in Stow yesterday..(Sunday), but I have my new City shirt (With Bell 8) on the back, so I may wear it tomorrow..:)

btw, When I bought my shirt from the City store at the Etihad a few weeks ago, the girl who was applying the letters said "How do you spell Bell?"

Really!!

stopped at Stow for three days on the way back from Jersey this year, without doubt a beautiful part of the country a great place to slow down and recharge the batteries.
