The Cure night BBC2

Very good band but the holy trinity of 80s alt rock for me will remain the Smiths , Bunnymen and Chameleons. And just behind those New Order.
I just don't think the Cure can touch these and I don't know why they're so much bigger than most of the bands they emerged with.

Just my opinion. Bizarrely, Chameleons are the only ones I've never seen.

1) New Order
2) Echo
3) Chameleons
4) Cure
5) Smiths

Very true. I honestly don't think they knew what they were doing (in a good way). Them and Wire were best dressed IMO as they didn't look forced. * (Hook was ok until he got into the leather gear lol).
Wire and Magazine. The light occasionally poured out of me.

Joy Division in my humble opinion were the best band of all time. It was short for obvious reasons. A Forest is beautiful but Smith and the band had and have no idea how to dress Just my view that's all. The music is great but they put me off with the eye liner in 1980.
From memory I think The Cure were the pioneers of Goth/Punk.

Forgot about Magazine, never seen them but def Top 3!
1) JD/NO
2) Durutti Column
3) Magazine
4) Stockholm Monsters
5) Chameleons
6) Puressence
I saw the Stockholm Monsters supporting New Order on the Ceremony tour. 1981. Unfortunately never saw Joy Division as I stupidly passed up the chance at the time on a few occasions.
