However the music is better than I anticipated
Very true. I honestly don't think they knew what they were doing (in a good way). Them and Wire were best dressed IMO as they didn't look forced. * (Hook was ok until he got into the leather gear lol).Joy Division didn't try and that is why
Just my opinion. Bizarrely, Chameleons are the only ones I've never seen.Very good band but the holy trinity of 80s alt rock for me will remain the Smiths , Bunnymen and Chameleons. And just behind those New Order.
I just don't think the Cure can touch these and I don't know why they're so much bigger than most of the bands they emerged with.
.
Wire and Magazine. The light occasionally poured out of me.Very true. I honestly don't think they knew what they were doing (in a good way). Them and Wire were best dressed IMO as they didn't look forced. * (Hook was ok until he got into the leather gear lol).
The Smiths are second after Joy Division. Fal Larry Band are third.Just my opinion. Bizarrely, Chameleons are the only ones I've never seen.
1) New Order
2) Echo
3) Chameleons
4) Cure
5) Smiths
From memory I think The Cure were the pioneers of Goth/Punk.Joy Division in my humble opinion were the best band of all time. It was short for obvious reasons. A Forest is beautiful but Smith and the band had and have no idea how to dress Just my view that's all. The music is great but they put me off with the eye liner in 1980.
Forgot about Magazine, never seen them but def Top 3!Wire and Magazine. The light occasionally poured out of me.
Dave Vanian and the Damned were both before the Sex Pistols. New Rose is the greatest punk song in my opinion. 1976!!From memory I think The Cure were the pioneers of Goth/Punk.
I saw the Stockholm Monsters supporting New Order on the Ceremony tour. 1981. Unfortunately never saw Joy Division as I stupidly passed up the chance at the time on a few occasions.Forgot about Magazine, never seen them but def Top 3!
1) JD/NO
2) Durutti Column
3) Magazine
4) Stockholm Monsters
5) Chameleons
