The Cure night BBC2

one of the core values of being a punk was/is not giving a shit what other people think about how you look.

judge away.
it is, in point of fact, you that is the silly old ****.
I don't consider myself old, a **** yes, but old no.

The punk era was before my time btw, you foc.

I watched the BBC2 concert last night and was surprised how much I enjoyed it

(As another poster said, I felt the same with the Blur one last year)

Never been a big fan of The Cure, although I love Disintegration the album - just something about it

I now intend to explore The Cure's catalogue further and I don't think I'll be disappointed

yeah, me too, remember it well.

great venue.
best gig i saw there was wah!
I saw Wah! at the new Poly union building on Oxford Road (Nelson Mandela Building?). Was that the gig where everything ran late and Wah! went on second even although they were the headliners?

wah! were a great band.

i can't remember who played first,
just that wah! were amazing.
(according to my diary
it was june27th 1981
& a band called send no flowers were the support).

my last gig at the old poly was 27th feb 1982
u.k. decay + danse society.

don't know when they switched venues,
but my first gig at the new poly
(yes, i think you're right, nelson mandela building)
was may 29th 1982
au pairs + the raincoats + electra complex + fast relief.
au pairs didn't come on stage until about 1:30am.
fantastic band live.

Fair play for keeping the diary. Time's a bugger and I sometimes struggle to remember who I saw and when. Went to so many gigs back in the day.

PS my old band from the early 80's supported the Danse Society at the Gallery on Peter Street. We were bobbins but they were really good!

yeah, me too, spent many years doing nothing except going to gigs.
