I'll throw a couple of hundred in ;-)!! Seriously though the place is a goldmine if somebody put a bit of money in and sorted it out round the edges they couldn't fail!!!

It would surely cost alot as the owner wouldn't want to give it away cheaply considering the money it makes!

It would have to be a sort of social club, which can bring people into the area throughout the week.

Part pub, part restaurant, screenings, forums etc.

£500k should do it.

Sorry lads but its "pie in the sky".

Pubs are closing down at an alarming rate, (smoking ban, recession etc.) and you want to open one up.... ????

From experience, a pub around the ground will take in he region of between £5k & £9k on a good match day( depending on size and clientèle) ... take out the cost of the beer, staff and match-day overheads (door staff etc.) and that leaves a profit of top end approx £3k on a good match day.

So lets say we play 25 home games @ £3k match day = £75k per year (if lucky)

then you have corporation tax, VAT payments, staff's national insurance costs. business rates, heating & electric bills, insurance costs, PPL licence, sky sports costs (approx £20k for pub) and your own wages.

I'm afraid it doesn't stack up and you'll be heading the way of the rags.

and don't forget Mike Summerbee tried it and failed.
