The Derby at the Swamp Pre match Discussion Thread

Ahhh the good old "United lost it" - I had an argument with one of the waiters in an Indian a few nights ago as he came out with the you didn't win it united lost it shite... The fucking prick didn't know his arse from his elbow so for him to try and hold a conversation with me about such a matter was hilarious.. Apparently he was a massive west ham fan, yet when i asked him when he last went he told me he's never been, it also became apparent he didn't even know who managed west ham - Fucking prick, and the curry was shit too!

I had a similar chat with 4 numbnuts on the train after Sats match,City lost it due to poor defence,I just love debating with them to pass the time but its like men against boys honestly.

2 weeks ago 1 said to me "so do you think in the 5 years time City will of achieved everything United have?" i said haven't you won 19 titles ? he didnt get what i was getting at and said "exactly mate you will never be as big as united, he was a clever lad

Real Madrid have won their title 32 times , Glasgow Rangers have won theirs 54 times ...... Juventus have 28 title wins ...... Benfica have 32 title wins .... Ajax have 31 title wins to their name ..... yet the rags claim they are the biggest club in the world with 'ONLY' 19 title triumphs ...... tisn't all about title wins , is it ??

You might also point out to him that his club changed it's name to 'Manchester United' in 1902 , and then won its FIRST top flight title five years later ...... so from 1902 , it's taken them 110 YEARS to amass their '19' title triumphs , and only SEVEN of those arrived BEFORE Fergie did. (and you certainly NEVER heard any rag boasting about that in those days!)

...... things certainly haven't always been this 'rosy' for them , and their biggest challenge will no doubt arrive once Fergie moves 'upstairs'/or leaves.

Watched them against Chelsea before and I am baffled how an ordinary team with ordinary players are 15 effing points clear. It really is astonishing.

I hope we win and thump them all over the pitch for two reasons.One to keep the recent good form going and finishing the season on a high,culminating with a cup win.Two to shut them up a bit and sow more seeds of doubt in their mind that they aren't as good as they think,in spite of the points gap and that maybe they got lucky this season.

Oh...and maybe....just maybe......the unthinkable will happen........

Distinctly nervous about Monday.

Fergie will have them massively up for this and kicking the wotsit out of all our quality players - Merlin in particular. I predict Shrek will be a man possessed (no chance he won't play). We'll have the usual weak referee - they haven't been awarded a penalty against them all season - and Sky will be having their Manure love-fest.

Bobby needs to rev his charges up 110% for this; we need bragging rights, to lay down an emphatic marker for next season and maintain positivity ahead of the semi at the weekend.

For anyone interested, I'll be watching at the Blue Terrace Bar, Los Cristianos, Tenerife!
