They still have Chelsea us and arsenal to play. We can get closer to them and finish the season well.

Indeed, the problem is that they could technically have it wrapped up by those games, if they lose to us and then win their next 3 against Stoke, West Ham and Villa haven't they won the league? I think it could get close like you say but only by quite a few points.

Chelsea will be fucking knackered by the time they play the Rags and as for Arsenal I doubt they'll seriously threaten a result against a United team with the title in their sights.

We can still finish closer to them. It's obviously out of our hands but if the players think its in the bag then we can at least close the gap to a more respectable level

I think we'll beat them because they are shite, they'll likely wrap up the title though in a home game depending if they drop any points, i reckon probably at home to Chelsea but if it's that close by that game we will be in for a chance of winning it!

I can see united players easing off the gas because in their minds it's won, plus Chelsea and arsenal have a lot to play for looking at where spurs are.

Stranger things have happened and if we beat them, psychologically, things start to get a bit nervous and teams like West Ham and Villa aren't fully safe, even West Ham could still get sucked into a relegation battle with some bad results. If it comes to playing Chelsea or Arsenal with the title still not wrapped up.. I almost fancy us to steal it, not going to hold my breath but a lot can still happen yet, they were shite today and they had so much to play for. The biggest problem if things were to get 'really' close is the goal difference.

I'll get slaughtered for this but I made a thread the other week suggesting do we put out a weaker team in the Derby and save ourselves for the semi-final. Yes I know we all want to beat them for pride and all that goes with it but winning the FA Cup is far far more important than one derby game when they have already wrapped up the title. I never ever thought I would say this but for the first time ever I don't think beating them is the biggest game of our season. Take off your blue tinted specs and look at is as a neutral. Those fuckers will be out to injure us or goad us into red cards, they're a sly bunch of bastards and i'd show them no respect and put out a weak eleven, show them the FA Cup is more important to us. I also think a weaker City team could take those fuckers anyhow.
What are you on about? We still have to ensure a top four finish and preferably finish second.A win at the swamp would do wonders for our morale. Winning breeds confidence.

It will be the first time we will be able to put out a full strength team in ages so we must do it. We need to wallop them

Hate derbies at the best of times so really not looking forward to this given the circumstances. Be interesting to see whether Mancini goes with the one up front which was effective in last years derby or really goes for it with two up front.

Hart

Zaba
Kompany
Nastasic
Clichy

Milner
Yaya

Nasri
Aguero
Tevez
Silva

That would be my team but Milner will probably play on the right and Barry/Garcia in the middle.

Yes I know winning breeds confidence and if you read my post I think we can still beat them with an under strength team. And if we happened to play a second 11 and lost then I hardly doubt it would effect the squad and the better players anyway. And as for 4th place with home games to Reading, Norwich and West Ham to come if were seriously worrying about not getting results there then we might as well give up now. It's only an opinion and I'll be surprised if it's not one Mancini considers.
