The deterioration of Blue Moon

I don't understand this split up between "experienced" and "non experienced" posters, to be honest, as if typing all this nonsense was some sort of rocket science...

What, if Mancini himself registered, he would have to stand and accept abuse from some kitchen "analyst" not happy with being disagreed with simply because the latter has hit the "Submit" button 1000 times more?

No offence taken. A point though;
1. Are any of those 'jokes' as offensive as wishing death on one of our players? If you do find them offensive (as it seems you do), then I apologise. I guess each person has a different idea of what is an acceptable comment/post.

That's a bit strong mate. Calling Jo a player.
''Employee'' then.

Speaking of which, I know J.K Rowling once registered herself on a Harry Potter forum and got lambasted for not knowing anything and being a general newb. I can picture it.

Before I joined a few days ago I was a long-term lurker, so I know what I'm talking about. The past few months I very representative of us as a club. There is a lack of tolerance on here now, and no patience. It feels the same in the stadium at matches, maybe it comes with the increase in expectation and numbers? I used to go on a massive website where all clubs were mashed together into one forum (EA Forum), and it was hell on there. Anything pro-City I said was immediately shot down. Like I said maybe it's the numbers.

But the other day was ridiculous. When I tried to give a neutral view on my very first post, I was accused of being a United fan. It seems like these days you can't post on here unless you have a pair of blue tinted specs and wear them at all times.

I don't mind the abuse, just ignore the ignorant.

I suppose if people replied to the topic rather than replying to the poster who started it, that would be a good place to start improving. After all, this thread is now largely one which is being used to snipe at Dave...rather than actually discussing whether he may have had a point...

...nevermind that there's been a bunch of people who agree with him...guess they all must be attention seekers...

Ah I don't even know where to start. It's actually posts like this, trying to make people believe something that quite frankly isn't there, that were this issue before you went onyour 'sabatical' that was bringing tge "quality" of the board down.

Discussion dropped because" if you didn't agree with you or Dave you were stupid" - whether that was intentional or not is irrevelent, a lot of posters felt the same way, that IMO was a major contributor to new posters feeling alienated and other posters not posting in discussion threads : because they couldn't be arsed with others telling them they were wrong if they didn't conform.

The majority of this thread is discussing the topic a minority have touched on Dave (and hopefully your) posts in recent times as you two have been the major cause of issue recently.

wasn't this place so lovely and amicable whilst they went on holiday?

My twopennyworth is as follows:-

Law of averages says the more people who sign up, the more idiots you'll get. That goes for any forum.
I believe any new member should go on a novice board to weed out nuisance infiltrators and trolls for 6 months.
Anyone found with a multiple screen name should be banned and the ISP banned. Surely the mods (or a few members) could manage to police this if required.
Have a nominated board or a designated area where rags and other fans are allowed and keep them off the main board.
Any member who abuses another member personally is yellow carded then red carded with a temporary ban. Next ban permanent (and ISP).
And finally the number of posts doesn't give anyone the authority on here to talk down to another poster, unless it's a mod explaining the Bluemoon Code of Practice.

That should do for now.

The board goes through cycles as others have noted. My personal bugbears are;

1) people complaining about the no of Utd related threads usually with lines like "you're obsessed" or "this is a City forum", ....well it's not it's for "City and other football"
The solution is the General Football and City forum split which is a great idea and I'm not sure why it hasn't been tried.

2) Covert Rags or other fans, I like other fans being here, just not the ones pretending to be blues. They foster unrest between City fans whilst laughing up their snidey 'shitbag' sleeves.
The solution would be for people to declare their allegiance, then we know where we stand. Make it an offence in the COC to falsely declare so if subsequently outed an immediate ban would follow.

Post count numpties they irritate me but contrary to their beliefs I think most people who see a large post count in a short time think, "He's gobby" rather than "I must take him seriously". Let them do their thing, they are hoisted by their own petards.

that is, of course, till ironically I think Tolmie started a thread clamouring for them to come back.

You make my point.
