It's happened over years not months, the board was self moderated with little bother when it was small. It's simple, as numbers have increased it has gradually got worse for abuse.
My suggestions, either grow a thicker skin or join one of the smaller more friendly forums.

I agree in someways. Anyone that has a objective opinion often gets accused of being a "rag" . It spoils the forum when someone is accused of that every 5 minutes.
City fans have always hated United for the arrogance and belittling other teams/rivals, but that's kind of what's happening with some posters here.
Hate threads about Everton and Spurs every week is a bit pointless too

Ah I don't even know where to start. It's actually posts like this, trying to make people believe something that quite frankly isn't there, that were this issue before you went onyour 'sabatical' that was bringing tge "quality" of the board down.
Discussion dropped because" if you didn't agree with you or Dave you were stupid" - whether that was intentional or not is irrevelent, a lot of posters felt the same way, that IMO was a major contributor to new posters feeling alienated and other posters not posting in discussion threads : because they couldn't be arsed with others telling them they were wrong if they didn't conform.
The majority of this thread is discussing the topic a minority have touched on Dave (and hopefully your) posts in recent times as you two have been the major cause of issue recently.
