The deterioration of Blue Moon

am i on the list...?

There isn't a list, and even if there was, you wouldn't be on it. We might disagree on things every now and again and think that each other are twats, but you contribute more to this forum than attention seeking crap. That's kind of what I was getting at. The people who use this forum to stroke their own ego rather than to talk about City

As I said earlier I disagree with some of Damocles' contributions to the forum but I agree with this. I PM'd him a while back and have stopped bitching since but I can imagine I'm not exactly one of his favourite posters.

Isn't this thread just a fishing trip? From the OP through most if not all contributions? Frankly, far from being a productive discussion it's pretty much been the usual popularity contest with the usual result. A bit of an eye sore on the front page of the UK's most quoted fans forum if you ask me.

Depends how much of it you have read I guess, but there has been some good discussion contained within it, in places.

I don't particularly think it was a "fishing trip", I think it was a genuine attempt at some discussion about where the forum is heading, but then I don't agree that it has deteriorated either, just got bigger, but if it opens some discussion about how the forum works I don't see how it can cause a problem.

There are numerous discussions on here telling the manager how to manage, players how to play, coaches how to coach, and there's nothing more certain than these will not have any effect on Manchester City, they are just opinions of people who think they know everything there is to know about football. That is what the forum is for, and its a shame that quite a few post "twat" at an opinion, instead of debating the opinions civilly, but mostly they are incapable of actually having a debate.

A discussion on how the forum works just might have an effect on how the forum works, so decide for yourself which discussion is actually more useful.

But you can have good debate and call someone a twat at the same time it can be an off the cuff comment too..friends call each other twats all the time,it doesnt mean that they are actually a twat..
I am,but dont give a hoot.

Dave got abuse for the condescending attitude he had in many posts..tbh he should have just said "Twat"...would have saved so much kerfuffle.

I was alluding to it being the sole contribution to a debate, in which case it adds nothing.

I'm not sure it was just a genuine attempt to start a discussion on where the forum is heading. I don't think Bluemoon has been as interesting and diverse as it currently is, it's never been better. So how does that equate to it deteriorating?

I think the OP genuinely feels he isn't getting his posts noticed and admired like he may have in the past. The site has become so big and there are so many users that his posts are getting lost and forgotten and he doesn't like it. It appears that others feel the same as him. I've felt before that many posts are just forgotten in a second because within 30 seconds there have been ten more posts. It's easy to point at new posters and say they're ruining the site, but in reality some of the new users are better than many of those with high post counts or long membership time.

Overall I just feel everyone needs to realise that no one is really that important on this site. The site is what's important and everyone just contributes a very small amount to it.

As I say, the site has never been better!

It does come across as someone with load of posts acting like they own the place TBH.

Lots of the stuff posted on here seems to have the intent of getting a rise out of people, arguing for the sake of it.

This "I can say what I want entitled to my own opinion etc" is frequently wheeled out when people get stick or grief. Its an internet forum full of idiots many of which dont even support City. So what do you expect ?

A top drawer psychiatrist could make living off this thread alone, the psychosis and neurosis, the tubthumping and aggression, the comedians hiding inner hurt, the hangers on and appeasers, the arsey, the reserved, the downright crazy and last but not least the snobs.
Then there is me, the only normal guy in this madhouse!!!

Can I do a smiley face or are they banned now?
