I didn't know until yesterday that Roget's Thesaurus was conceived and written at the Portico Library in Moseley Street, Manchester.
I think the op has swallowed a copy if it.
Roget was also the co founder of the Manchester medical school

You don't have 'cranial ability', you have 'mental capacity'. The cranium is a bone. And i'll think you will find the majority of creative individuals I.e, the middle class yuppies at the Tate, are more or less ALL alumni having studied at universities, thus making your academia v innate creativeness argument contradicted. Everyone is born with a tendency to learn, academia influences this. The media can manipulate and work wonders on their demographic if they use the right words and photos. Genius's of era's past were one in a million and they were seen literally as gods. Nowadays, you can write a good song which people think they can realte to I.e, Your sex is on fire, and be seen a music gods, not genius's, because we unfortunately live in a society where creativeness is undermimed by academia, and in the kings if Leon example, the academia is the endless list of all the media workers who all have qualifications to do their job, this then allows them to be able to work for an institution which now rewards even the slightest creative feat.

Roget was from Ancoats really - dodgy 'r' on his typewriter. Good lad was my old Uncle Roger. Mind you he did tend to run on a bit when, of a cold sunday evening as we ate our bread 'n drippin' round the stove, he started going on about the dissipation of creativity's adulation.
ahhh - happy days.

I had a conversation with 3 extremely intelligent friends. The conversation spun around the way in which creativity is commended in modern times. They argued that creativity is not innate and is merely manipulated by the environment around you. While doing this, they vehemently expressed their discredit for creativity and didn't regard it as pertaining to any innate cranial abilitiy.

Has coporate oppression begun to have such a profound effect that stupid or ignorant people begin to assume this? Whereby people only credit cranial feats that correlate with academia? How stupid or ignorant do you have to be?

Yes, i spend much rumination over this phenomenon. In any modern human civilization, there is and always will be convergence when regarding this fact. It really infuriates me. It discredits some of the modern geniuses. I couldn't even fathom the fact that they in no way perceived the likes of say...

Hendrix, Thomas Bangalter, Guy de homem-christo, Mitch Hedberg, Lady Gaga, and Dave Chappelle.

as having immutable and intrinsic mental attributes. Does anyone else think this way?

Can't anyone see past the corporate attire they wear?

It's sad....

It seems we're are children of the world, forever hypnotized by the dictums of the movie of our own creation.

Uncle Herbert, is that you?
