I failed mine 7 times.

Absolutely perfect driver in my lessons. Came to the big day I was wreck - just got to the point where I thought I'd never pass. Horrible experiance.

I agree with Clarkson on this. There should be a limit to how many tests you can take. If you can't pass after 3 goes then you're clearly not cut out to be a motorist.
Nonsense took me more than 3. I now drive 100 miles a day.

Is this you ?

Doesn't mean you are any good at it

You do surprise me

I failed my test four times and I really am a shit driver. What really frightens me is that their are loads who are worse.

A month or so ago, as I pulled in to my housing estate a football came into the road from right to left - I naturally looked to my right but then a little lad around 9 or 10 ran in the road from left to right and I did a perfect emergency stop for the first time in years. My friends and relations know how bad I am and I actually started ringing them up and telling them about this incident I was so pleased with myself ! It is however only a matter of time before I bang into some teenage Girl pissing about on Facebook on her mobile .

Get rid of the three point turn, bang in parking in car parks, more emphasis on not jumping lights and speeding round roundabouts and the roads will be safer.

This is the big one for any young Bluemooners learning to drive right now; take care as you approach all these twats on two wheels who think they are Mark Cavendish or Bradley Wiggins, and remember that they come up behind you at light's and they don't give a fuck which side of your car they are passing on.

No points, no problems. Just nerves on the day. Once I'd sorted my nerves I was fine.

Passed my test on 30th December last year at tender age of 31. Found it actually a little bit easy and since passing have seen and done a load of things that weren't in the lessons or on the test. Motorway driving is a must. Also traffic jams. More hill starts. Turn in road and reverse around a corner, don't think ive used them yet.

Changes are needed to be honest. Not only to make them more realistic real world driving but also, has anyone noticed that the careless drivers pass test first time and the ones who like to think about things take a few times.

I passed first time. I also have a speed awareness course booked in new year

3 years ago one manouvere was dropped & replaced by independent driving .the way the test works at the moment you can have 15 driving faults & pass or just one serious fault & fail

Does the pass plus test not still exist. That included nightime, city centre, country road, difficult weather and motorway driving. It enabled you to get 1 years no claims with many insurers which is a significant saving when you first start out. It didn't cost that much tot take either.

Regarding pass plus not many insurance companies give decent discounts on it &not many people take it up .the cost is reasonable usually about £150 for 6 hours ,people who do take it feel much more confident
