Damo, I've respect for you because you've got a brain that you usually employ to great effect, but I simply don't have the time or inclination to answer to ridiculous suppositions with even more ludicrous people who propose them.

Your generalisations above about me aren't valid, and you don't do yourself any favours with such fallacious assertions.

If there were aliens out there and someone had evidence that they wanted to share does anyone for a split second believe someone would be sat at home and making a schoolboy video on YouTube about it?

(and that's before you even annihilate the idiotic contents of what's been produced)

It would be a major press event, and one in which they'd be a significant amount of commercial value that no doubt the world and his wife would be trying to get in on. Really.

So who dabbles in YouTube?

The answers are so self-evident yet missed by those who lack any common sense or intelligence, or who are too lazy to think about things.

I'm not going to go on, I've already posted on this and other imbecilic contributions ad nauseam.

I'll stick to the logic, common sense, and reason (when I can be bothered) whilst others make pathetic personal attacks or slights.

The ignorance exhibited on these sorts of threads is truly frightening; and please don't try to excuse or apologise for it.

Sorry, I think that again I failed to really nail on my point. The thing that I was getting at, is that logic, reason and common sense only apply to evidence, not lack of it. I can happily look at most of these Youtube videos and prove that they are fake, either by watching recreations, or using a bit of logic.

However, I was trying to say that to have a viewpoint of the negative straight away is a little strange. We as logical and reasonable people cannot be dismissive of evidence without doing the legwork of dissecting it.

I have yet to find any good evidence to suggest to me that intelligent life has visited this planet. That said, for all I know they may visit Earth once a day and twice on Wednesdays. The point though is that until we have evidence supporting it, it doesn't matter whether or not they do.

Using logic and reason works both ways, we can neither support things nor dismiss them without going through the evidence. Hypothesis on how you feel that an alien species with alien ways will connect with us isn't evidence, just as assuming worldwide conspiracies aren't evidence. I cannot work out how you can presume their methods or what you are basing this off.

The search continues though, don't get disheartened by crap theories, think of them as one theory less to debunk before getting to the ultimate goal, truth.

When I mentioned this to a few of ym mates who are physicists, they kind of went a bit mad, stating that Hawking obviously had a very deep understanding of it therefore should be taken as gospel.

I don't particularly care who says something, each opinion must be taken on the merits of the opinion rather than the merits of the person stating it. This is my problem with politics too, somehow if you can show that the person with the idea is a twat, the idea also becomes useless.

Dam', when it suits certain people then Authority is god, but when someone does'nt agree with authority then it's a liar or "not to be believed", it's laughable at best and embarrasing for certain posters as they theirselves can't see what they are doing. What's the first thing you think of when someone claims they've seen a UFO ( flying saucer)? Most people think that everyone who claims such things are crazy, stupid, retarded, drunk, and so on. That's why i said respected people. They are professionals in their fields, and they risk being labeled crazies and their professions are on the line. So why would they claim they've seen UFO( flying saucers) unless they've really seen one?

It's eye witness accounts, by credible people. Some have video evidence that has been examined by professional special effects people, and they've shown they are not fake. Government documents stating that UFOs or flying saucers are real, and have secret rank higher than the H-bomb( at the time the H-bomb was top secret). That documentary brings evidence that most people have not seen.

Its not the uneducated people stating that they've seen UFO's. Its people that put their careers on the line.

Most of the claims that are put in the documentary are only of those that have no definite answer. Some of answers proposed are clearly jokes and insults ( answers not based on the evidence provided) . That doesn't mean all the UFO sightings are indeed of aliens. Most in fact are the alternative explanations. But some remain unsolved. The documentary resolves around the unsolved cases.

I am not a true believer of aliens coming to earth, but the quick dismissal of proposed evidence seems unscientific to me. You can't put UFO, then flying saucer in brackets, that's misleading. UFO, unidentified flying object. Unidentified, means it could be anything, or nothing.
Same as a government document on unidentified flying objects. Unidentified does not equate alien.
