No, mate the earth is an elliptical spherical globe, like all the other planets.....but there are some very strange anomalies within this which I find interesting.....

How do who explain different time zones?

The Earth rotates around the sun. One side is gradually brighter, one side is gradually darker, allowing us to use the system of time zones we have. If the Earth was flat, all of it would be day time at once.

Yes because the Earth is still flat. There'd be a proportion of angle where furthest away is darker, but it wouldn't be completely dark because nothing is in the way (such as the rest of Earth's mass where Earth is a ball).

If Earth was flat you wouldn't get disproportionate maps ;)

Maps are stretched whereby either the upper half looks bigger than it actually is or the southern half is (this explains why Britain is bigger on maps than it is). There's correct terms for all this in my brain somewhere but I'm too tired to go hunting.
