Seaman’s debut in a preseason game at Mansfield was purest black comedy, laughably inept but more than a little depressing knowing this was what we were going into the new season with. His decline was startling and he turned up two stone overweight. I suspect City paid up his contract and invented an injury cover story to save faceThink Keegan was hoping Seaman would work out like Schmeicel's signing the year before. Unfortunately it didnt and it was a less than impressive swansong for his career. Iirc he broke his shoulder at Pompey which prompted his retirement. At least that allowed us to replace him with James but think it may have led to Ellegaard playing a few games. Remember him, young Danish keeper who looked nervous.
