The Eddie McGoldrick paradox

Think Keegan was hoping Seaman would work out like Schmeicel's signing the year before. Unfortunately it didnt and it was a less than impressive swansong for his career. Iirc he broke his shoulder at Pompey which prompted his retirement. At least that allowed us to replace him with James but think it may have led to Ellegaard playing a few games. Remember him, young Danish keeper who looked nervous.
Seaman’s debut in a preseason game at Mansfield was purest black comedy, laughably inept but more than a little depressing knowing this was what we were going into the new season with. His decline was startling and he turned up two stone overweight. I suspect City paid up his contract and invented an injury cover story to save face

Has to be City's one and only World Player of the Year, Ballon D'Or winner, three time African Footballer of the Year and 25th President of Liberia George Weah.

Seven appearances and one league goal. Or did I dream it?

I can remember being in the away end at Spurs WHL George Weah came on ..as a sub ,probably we were chasing the game..and i do remember some very classy footwork from our George..as we struggled; but thats my only memories of this great footballer at City...i cannot even say who he scored against for us...The Strongbow was more powerful back in the day tho )

Think he scored a late equaliser against Liverpool, but I might be wrong.

The only players nobody's mentioned so far from my "forgotten" list are Bobby Mimms and Carl Shutt; both pretty high-ish profile players at the time, but can only vaguely recall Shutt playing in a Christmas/New Year away game at Newcastle (freezing open end where Cole destroyed us) and can't really remember Mimms at all.
