Accepted the side quest to get a mammoth tusk and I didn't really know where they would be. So just carried on and started another where you locate the girl in whiterun and as I was on my way to kill the assassins there was one there. Tough to take down too. Anyway, completed the other side quest and left the cave I was in and just as I was going back to Whiterun, ran into 2 mammoths and 2 giants. :)

Really getting into it now, not gone to see the grey beards yet, just trying to do as many side quests as possible. If you join the stormcloaks or the imperials, do you get attacked by the other side?

I've just finished that one, got a bit lucky really, I was randomly walking around and a dragon was attacking a few soldiers, I stayed well back, fired a few arrows at the dragon. A giant then came wandering over and the dragon killed it. When both were dead I casually strolled over and looted the giant who was carrying the mammoth tusk :D

Are dragon attacks random? Went into Windhelm and one attacked and they're still like, "I heard there was a dragon at helgen, wish it doesn't attack here".

Do you need to have played the other games for the full effect of this one?

Never really been into the "fantasy" type games, but im only hearing good things about this one....

Nah, not at all. Same world, but games and graphics and all that have moved on so much that they all look and feel a bit different anyway. Each one was sent in a different area of this fictional world anyway, so no need at all.

@Psmyth07 - yes, they are random, you can get almost ny type of dragon attacking you. I may be imagining it, but the Auroura Borealis type night time effects seem to herald an imminent dragon attack. Been attacked on the way back down from the Greybeards on the mountain path, next to a mining village called Dark Crossing, near Riften, on the way to Winterhold, and coming out of a cave near Riverrun. Been playing for about 25 hours so far - the one near Riften is at a fixed place, and is a right bar steward to kill. Won't land for me to chop his scaly neck in two, so ended up pinging arrows at him for eternity and using my side kick as bait. Dragons also roost in certain places in the game, so you can seek them out and defeat them in their own nests too.

With regards the script - Bethesda open world games are full of little quirks like that - I'm a Jarl in one City, yet the guards still talk down to me sometimes.

Can't get over how good the game is. Already put in around 26 hours and that's been mainly side quests etc :D

I've nearly finished it :-( I'm going to clear and do most of the side missions before I actually go on to finish it, only on level 25 as well

Level 29 now just been doing loads of miscellaneous missions I'll do the actual 1s when im fully levelled up :)

you get good things like shouts when doing the main quests so you should do those to make the rest of the game and dungeons easier.

Which mission do you get the 3rd shout?

You get shouts from the word walls, some are connected to quests and some are there for you to uncover, usually in ancient ruins and burial sites. You also need the dragon souls to unlock shouts once you have uncovered them.

Which shout are you searching for?

Any that are connected to the quests. I have around 30 main quests but would rather get the shout ones out the way first.

Is anyone playing it on PS3? If so, how is it going? I don't know if the patch has been released yet, but is it still laggy etc?

I've got it on PS3 and mine isn't laggy. However, there was a patch yesterday or the day before for it.

Only played it afew times since I bought it, been in the box ever since. Yet I was hooked on Oblivion. Anyone else the same? Just can't really connect with it

Completed the main story line the other day, no where near as good as oblivions but the overall game is amazing. Lvl 24.

Just had a drinking contest with someone in Solitude. I won but ended up in some Prision on the other side of the map now I have to retrace my tracks and find out what happened.

You wouldn't get this with COD...love it.

How could you do that?

Like I know its possible but if I start doing too many quests I just think why am I doing this and go and mooch off and do some side quests or read some books or something. The game deserves better than just motoring through the main quests.
