Right got it now first time I've used a staff been a sword wheeling gladiator

After saying how perfectly brilliant the game was earlier in the thread i'm temporarily taking back my comment.

I'm level 59 and finished Mage, Companions, Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild quests so i decided to finally finish the main quest line. I had done Diplomatic Immunity earlier but upon looking at my list of quests the next quest hadn't started. I went back to Delphine to see if i just had skipped the conversation but this was a fail. I check online to see what the quest was actually all about and skipped most of it to head to find Esbern, hoping to skip most of the steps of the quest, which again didn't work.

Apparently, this is a really common bug and on a console there's no way of finding a solution apart from loading a previous save from before the completion of Diplomatic Immunity. Being an absolute dick, i had deleted all saves from before the quest and am now fucked so emailed Bethesda to see if there was a solution.

"Hello,

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing technical difficulties in our game.

I am afrad that at this point in time, all we can advise is to try loading from an earlier save, and trying again. Sometimes, even trying to make different decisions or going different routes can help this problem.

There should be an update released that deals with problems similar to this one, and hopefully the update should clear it up. See here for details:

We apologise for any inconvenience, and hope you can enjoy the game as intended.

Kind Regards,

Francesca, Bethesda Technical Support"

NOT IMPRESSED. Starting a new character after i've finished my Uni work this week.

OK lads, this game sounds massively gay (with gems and potions and stuff), but is it really worth getting? I'm winding down now towards new year and bored shitless at home? Do you really get sucked in (excuse the pun) by the story and stuff?

Personally, i think the main story is a bit shite and quite fast but it makes up for it in terms of the side quests and stuff. I'd take a look at the gameplay and if it seems like a game you'd be into i'd recommend it but if you look at it and you think it looks 'massively gay' then i'd go for another.

Might be a bit much for you to take in, mate.

How so?

I'm missing something here.

How do I recharge magical weapons like the Nightingale Sword etc?

I've got soul gems etc but all I get offer at the enchanter is to enchant new weapons or destroy existing ones

I'm Level 33.

You recharge them from your inventory.

It's pretty geeky and sort of assumes you've played games of this ilk a few times. I'm a bit of a geek in my spare time and I've found it can be a little bewildering myself, I still feel I'm not getting the most out of the game due to the fact that I don't know the history and I don't read any of the numerous novels found within the game etc.

It is fun and I do like it but I feel like I'm not really getting the full experience.

Mind you, I doubt any of us on here know the history etc so I could be totally wrong!

It's value for money though, not many games still get played a month after purchase these days!

I always open the books cos they might be skill books, but i very much doubt many people actually read them all.

-- Mon Dec 12, 2011 4:28 pm --

Cheers tmq

I'd say it was an all or nothing game.

You need to dedicate a lot of time to playing it or else it'd seem pretty shit and pointless.
i don't know i think you could enjoy it if you didn't put the time in, its not like its hard to play and takes loads of skill, but it does take a while to make you character really good, that and the story grips you.

won game of the year recently too.

SWP's back do you have a certain type of game you are after?
