ULEZ didn’t affect cars so it would. If ULEZ had been passed I bet these restrictions wouldn't have happened.

Not straight away....it would eventually after they got us sucked inULEZ didn’t affect cars so it would.
Oh I agree, unfortunately it’s the chicken and egg scenario. We want clean air and great public transport, but we ain’t got cash to do it so we need our cars, I’d gladly go to the match on PT if it was door to door and about an hour no matter the time of day but it isn’t and I don’t think it ever will be.Not straight away....it would eventually after they got us sucked in
oooooo sucked in......
I have a great bus service at the end of my street which goes right past the ground (231)Oh I agree, unfortunately it’s the chicken and egg scenario. You can see it on Google maps. Goes from Ashburys past the ground and loops out before turning back and joining the lines in to Victoria. Plenty of space where you could build a station but given our fked rail system in the UK the chances of that being sorted and trains to the ground are nil.yeah it's just connected to victoria line from what my old man was telling me.
Anything is possible but it's firstly about what fits into a timetable and it's not as easy as it appears. To support a major event like a football match or a concert at the arena, you will need a schedule that allows for trains to arrive every 5 or 10 minutes or so, from north and from south. It would just majorly bugger up all the other lines as the trains cross over junctions etc. The idea for Manchester is to have two main railway stations and then onward travel in the city centre is covered by tram, tram-train or bus, just like London we go to Euston then get a connection to wherever we want to go to. So that means it is unlikely any new rail stations will be built, however if they did change their mind the best place would be maybe to re-open Miles Platting at the top of ATW (1 mile away). The problem with that is it is at a busy junction but it at least could use existing timetabled services to/from Leeds (covering supporters and fans from Wigan, Chester, Blackburn, Clitheroe - quite a wide area). Another option would be a new station at Central Park (designed with a future train station in mind) but as an interchange it would also need shuttle buses to do the final 1.5 mile journey because there's no point switching to a tram there, but it would reduce the impact of getting from Victoria.About 10 years ago, maybe more, Piccadilly was shut over Christmas and all the trains that normally terminated there headed to Victoria instead. The ones from places like Glossop and Marple turned right at Ashburys. The ones coming through Stockport turned right just past Stockport and then did a left somewhere just before or after Denton station. They all went right past the ground on the way to Victoria.
So unless some track has been taken out since then, it is possible. I’m sure it’s too much trouble and expense for them to even consider it, just for football fans though.
which ones for near the Crem? My eyes are deceiving me today
No go Area ?I have a great bus service at the end of my street which goes right past the ground (231)
Sadly this service goes to once an hour after 9pm ish. No good to me that.
Why can't they increase services later on match days/nights?
Think I'll park near the end of Ashton New Road and bus it to ground from another service.
God help mi windows and tyres.
*edit: Just checked and the 231 has gone even worse . Services stopped completely after around 7.30pm
So apart from going to the cemetery no fucker will park there, genius!I assume you mean the Philips Park Cemetery, if so all unrestricted parking will disappear, to be replaced with parking bays that allow you to park for a maximum of 90 minutes, ive attached the map for you
