The End of on Street Parking within walking distance of the Etihad

There’s parking from £5 to £8 within a mile’s walk. We have no choice for evening games either except pay £16 bus and overcrowded tram for two that takes 2.5 hrs or drive and park for less time and stress.
Unfortunately car is no longer an option at this time, I’ve been using the bus a bit, but after the farce after Young Boys and as the winter sets in, getting pissed wet through getting there and freezing for two hours plus getting back, just not enjoyable. Fortunately it seems tonight I’ve now got the car, hopefully Brisocoe lane is still free.

Any news on clayton Lane, I usually go down on the train but night games I drive is clayton Lane still open

Lots of double yellows on roads off Ashton New Road. Seen 3 traffic wardens within 100 yards of each other. Cars parked on pavements behind yellows being targeted

Sadly it looks like a significant number of blues may have fallen victim to the traffic wardens this evening, I spoke to one earlier and he said they had been instructed to issue to all vehicle parked up on the new double yellow lines.

Walking from Rusholme (Maine Road) as a student or from Droylsden as a working man was absolute bliss. Even trains from Piccadilly, that brisk walk to come down from the match was fine.

Some nightmare stories and maybe worse to come?

I can't think of any valid reason to stop motorists parking on empty roads which are clearly not residential like Clayton Lane and numerous others. The public transport system currently cant cope with the ammount of people that use it without those that currently park on streets. So with the added pressure of those that are forced off the roads and the new arena it has no chance in future. What is the Councils plan for this?? Has any thought gone into this?

They don’t give a fuck mate, I binned it in the end tonight, Sat cost at home watching the game, I see quite a few empty seats, expect that a lot more going forward unfortunately.
