The End of on Street Parking within walking distance of the Etihad

My mate picked up a parking ticket yesterday whilst parked on a driveway we've used for several years !

He's fuming but my thinking is a jobsworth warden has booked him for also blocking the pavement.

Be careful out there!

He’s blocking the whole pavement by the looks of it unless the picture is misleading.

No excuse really.

Does anyone have any information with regards to parking at Vermillion, price availability etc

Signs outside say pre booked , but see many people there with cash in hand,

Have always parked around chapter street, but the old fella needs something a little closer now

Another year on and its getting harder, already moved from south stand to north stand 2 years ago to shorten the walk,

Eventually we will be on the car park but want to defer that as long as possible,

Any info greatly appreciated

We've always parked at Vermillion - never pre-booked and just pay a tenner upon arrival. Easy/quick getaway usually too

Not a jobsworth , by the looks of the picture your mate is parking illegally and making the pavement unsafe for pedestrians especially those with a pram or using a disability scooter.

It really is one of my most annoying of annoyances these days, motorists parking without consideration for pedestrians. It’s been let slide for too long, need to crack down on it.

Took my 85 year old dad to the Brentford game and physically couldn’t get him on a tram from Picc station.Folk were rammed up against the glass tram after tram.Ended up getting a cab.
You could have just got a 216 bus to the ground from Piccadilly ... you'd probably have got a seat on that too!

I tend to agree with you. The frustrating thing is the pavement stops immediately after the driveway. It's at the very end of a cul de sac. But as you say he is still blocking the pavement even though nobody would use it at that point.

Thread long overdue a revisit, went to my usual spot on Gunson Street in Miles Platting today (I drive up from Kent) to find it full of residents parking permit signs so had to head back to the city centre and find a car park there. Looking on the Manc Council site it looks like they’re not actually going to enforce this new residents parking stuff until February but it really is the end of parking for free within 20 mins walk of the ground unless anyone else knows of any spots?

They were turning cars away yesterday unless you had pre-booked, don't know if that was because it was the scousers though

Been parking near the Sheldons bakery round the back of Clayton Lane for 10yrs +. About 20 mins walk. Normally a quick exit up Ashton Old Road

Just park further away and walk ffs ha ha, that steak pie won't touch the waistline with a 5k there and back walk.
It ain't going to be far off that distance, you can still get some a mile away but 90 mins before the game these are full.

It isn't long term as they just displace parking and we get other areas now seeing the restrictions.

Granted I’m a fast walker but I’ve found a spot off Oldham Road that’s between a 15 and 20 mins walk. Don’t want give too much away but if you think of a pair of brothers who played for City mid to late 80s then you’ve got the street name!!

It definitely seems to have got worse this season. We've been parking at Nortons Tyres for last few years. That's near enough on Oldham Road as it is. Costs a tenner and there's already been a couple of games this season where we haven't got on despite arriving 75 minutes before kick off.
