The party closest to the centre generally wins, doesn’t it?Are centrists more likely to win power?
Seems a bit of a myth.
Where are the Liberal Democrats?
The party closest to the centre generally wins, doesn’t it?
When was it last not the case? No. It is a myth.
When was it last not the case?
Boris is closer to the centre than Corbyn. His colleagues aren’t.So you think Boris Johnson was closest to the centre? With his culture wars and bollocks?
Or Margaret Thatcher was closer to the centre than Neil Kinnock?
Or call me Dave vs Gordon Brown?
It’s a trap, and it based on a false premise.
The party thatsticks to centrecourts the most voters, wins the election. It is as simple as that.
If it was true why have the Liberal Democrats been a fringe party for 7 years?
Boris is closer to the centre than Corbyn. His colleagues aren’t.
Cameron was vs Brown too.
Thatcher vs Kinnock, neither were particularly close to the centre, but I was young and have only looked back on that one, rather than experienced it.
So his platform of racism and bollocks was closest to the centre?
Closer than...?
The majority of the general public don't pick parties because of policies they go to narratives.
Get brexit done was a better narrative than the others, but it wasn't centrist.
One could argue that the last election was more of a Brexit referendum than about other policies.
Racism was a concern in both parties iirc
Talking bollocks is rife in all political parties.
The Liberal Democrats are irrelevant.
I could stand as The Centralist Party and have the most central views as possible. I wouldn’t be likely to win, but at least you could use me as an example! ;-)
