Peter Reid on now what a splendid chap . I feel like Everton are City's sister club .
I will never diss are Everton friends .

Very interesting game between Wolfsburg and Everton. The scoreline certainly flattered the home side. Though Wolfsburg dominated I felt Everton deserved the win, because they were more clinical and better defensively. The margin for victory was so big, because they got a bit of luck with the first goal and had a penalty, which should not have been. At the same time Wolfsburg's finishing was woeful and they lacked the ability to make the killer past. Caliguiri was especially poor for Wolfsburg and De Bruyne messed up the final ball too often. Rodriguez despite the own goal was probably there best player. McCarthy was very good for Everton and I really like Naismith. Naismith is such an intelligent player with his movement; he is like a poor man's Muller, but still very good. Lukaku was okay, but I feel that Etoo might offer more in certain games. It was valuable experience for Stones, but he is still not the player the media make out and made a lot of mistakes.

We have them this weekend so hopefully they are tired and we can take advantage, but I am not confident.

I think Everton will lose ground this year. Martinez is a very likeable chap and can build a great passing team but I feel he has a weakness when it comes to organizing a team to defend.

Everton did great last year as they still had Moyes pragmatic approach instilled and coupled with Martinez flair it created a very balanced team.

I think this year the Moyes training has dissipated and we'll see them ship goals, which is the Achilles heel of Martinez teams in the past.

He should bring in a defensive coach to compliment his style, and if he already has one, he should sack him and get a new one who knows how to defend.

Odd, when they've got Baines, Stones, Jagielka and Coleman, with Gaz Baz in front of them. Definitely something not right.

Everton XI: Howard, Hibbert, Gibson, Eto'o, McGeady, Oviedo, Distin, Besic, Atsu, Garbutt, Alcaraz.

You'd think he'd name a stronger team.

I think its sensible, give a pass on cup competitions, focus on PL and EL for the CL spot.

Moyes for defensive coach anyone?

Maybe not!

I'm with you on that, can't see too many at Everton being too upset.

Remind me how many trophies Everton have won since 1991?

With all due respect, I think you're looking at this as a football fan, whereas I'm sure those in charge at Everton will be thinking "where's the money". Maybe I'm cynical and maybe I'm over simplifying, but I bet I'm right.
