The FA ask Mark Hughes to explain comments about Bells

So what happened to fast tracking here?

Infact, what's happened to fast tracking since the single incident to ever be fast tracked (Adebayor). That was pushed through to ensure he was banned for the derby, now, with a "laughable" error in sending Bellamy off we will deffiantely miss him against Spurs because the FA have allowed a week to respond.

They're a fucking joke and its an embaressment these cunts run our league.

There's little point in appealing if this is the case, because the ban will already have been served at this rate. Cunts.

Sent the following e mail to the FA: -

"I understand that you have asked Mark Hughes to explain his comment that “the sending off of Bellamy was laughable”

Might I suggest as Mr Hughes will probably have to be more diplomatic than an average fan that his comment could have something to do with Bellamy having been tripped by Bolton’s right fullback, Robinson. Resulting in Manchester City losing a clear advantage in a dangerous situation. Mr Hughes may well have viewed the loss of a key City player instead of Bolton as being a little bit inappropriate. What Hughes should have said was that his second yellow card was totally outrageous and showed a complete lack of refereeing awareness and possibly a level of vindictiveness on the part of the official who knew that this was the player’s second yellow card. Mr Hughes may also have been influenced by Bolton’s first goal where even viewed in real time it should have been impossible not to see the Bolton player clearly, not just slightly, offside.

May I also politely enquire if you have asked the match officials on the day to explain there comments in respect of Manchester City players who they were less partial to. My words not theirs so perhaps an explanation of what they actually said would be appropriate.

And as the FA are clearly prepared to break their own rules about taking additional disciplinary steps after a referee has seen an incident and taken action especially as the same official was involved (reference Adebayor’s celebration against Arsenal). Perhaps, I can look forward to Bellamy having his second yellow card disallowed and Robinson receiving some punishment for a tackle clearly intended to stop a player who he would have had no chance of stopping legitimately."

I await their reply but I am not holding my breath.

Well FA, it's a bit like this, your Referee is a fucking thick idiot who was pefroming his duties with all the skill of crack pipe sucking glue sniffer. I said so because I'm pissed off!

Hmm, how will that hearing pan out i wonder...:

F.A Disaplinary panel: So...Mark Hughes, we understand that you claimed that Mark Clattenburgs decision to send Craig bellemy off was "laughable"...Can you explain this?

Mark Hughes: ...Well yes...I thought Mark Clattenburgs decision was laughable...basically...

F.A Disaplinary panal: ... well, thank you, that was very reviel...

*Alex Ferguson's head pop's around the door frame*

Alex Ferguson: Did you ban Tevez, Adebayour, Robinho and Craig Bellemy (again) for the Carling Cup tie? Those City bastards think they will ever play us on even terms!?

F.A Dispelinary panel: ...Not now alex!

Just seen this on the SSN website:

"Television replays suggested there was contact from Robinson, causing Bellamy to lose his balance, and Hughes was unhappy after the match.

Hughes described the decision to dismiss Bellamy as 'laughable' and 'ridiculous', and he has now been asked by the Football Association to explain those comments."

I think the laughable and ridiculous comments are right on the borderline of what is acceptable and what isn't. I remember when Moyes said a while back that he'll start respecting refs when they get decisions right and I don't think it should work like that. So even if they make mistakes in the game you've got to show a bit of decency to the refs in my book.

Having said that, like you I thought he would be called to task for the "questioning peoples integrity" comments. Those to me, were far worse.

He's simply telling the truth, it was laughable and ridiculous along with a few other decisions made
by the ref and his team. Respect has to be earned and Clattenberg deserves none.

tbf Ade stamped on someones face, Hughes just made a comment about the ref

Its hardly the same thing

LOL as if this was not to be expected. I actually think he worded it quite cleverly. I dont really see he has a case to answer when everyone press etc even Boltons manager was saying it was a foul on Bellamy. Clear contact, definately not a yellow card therefore he shoudlnt have been sent off. So its to be expected Hughes having a go all be it veiled, Clatternburg is a laughing stock he makes these sort of mistakes in every game he officiates so no one is at all surprised.

As for the first goal, again clearly several yards offside everyone agrees on it. Shoudlnt have been a goal he just said this.

I dont think they will be able to give him a ban its using the letter of the law to defeat the spirt.

Lets face it not like Bacon face directly calling a ref fat unfit, unfit to officiate etc - which he does every other week and always gets away with it.

The thing that irritates me about the FA boldly asking people to explain their words is they don't really mean explain your words. Not a chance that MH's comments will have any effect on the FA or result in any action against an official. He is being called in for a ticking off. He can't argue against it or give his side without digging himself in further in the FA's eyes.

If we have evidence then MH could take this further, but even that would only result in a backlash further down the line. The FA may, and I say 'may' very optimistically, take the comments on board and try to investigate/change things subtly behind the scenes without losing face, but doubtful.
