The FA Cup Final thread Starring Villa V Arsenal.

Cue all the "we'll challenge for the title next season" claims from Arsenal.

Arsenal are only title challengers between May and August.

Might be the worst showing from a team in a final I have ever seen. That was absolutely pathetic. I guess most villa players don't realize that could be the last time they see a final. Wow.

They don't give a shit! Champagne in the mansion tonight with the fit missus, just because they can.

How gay does giroud look?
An instrument has yet to be devised that can measure the actual gayness of giroud. You will be pleased to learn however that social scientists at Boston University have released a monograph proposing an international gayness standard which will be measured in units of Girouds (Gds) from 0 (0=Wayne, J.) to 100 (100=Blue Oyster Bar); where, for instance, Norton, G. = 78.9 Gds &c.

One penalty (the Aglonbahor foul was just outside the box). And none of their goals were offside.

The second one looked like it was off the pitch.

I doubt it would have made a difference. L'Arse were clearly superior throughout the game.

I'm disappointed Villa didn't win, but at least it means the Trafford scumbags are no longer joint holders of the most FA Cup wins.

Oh, well, I think he's very fashionable.

The overriding message from this game is that picking a team with the prime tactic of pumping it up to a big donkey at CF is a tactic that is best played out at the lower levels of the game where skillis a rare commodity. Benteke was poor and did nothing to exercise his buyout clause, Mertesacker had him in his pocket and I can't recall a single telling contribution from Benteke. There is some irony in that Mertesacker scored with Benteke easily out jumped, but this only emphasis the point that set piece moves can be carried out by CBs whereas in open play, give me Aguero or before him Tevez, both strong running forwards who scared defenders with pace, skill and versatility.
