The FA Cup Final thread Starring Villa V Arsenal.

The overriding message from this game is that picking a team with the prime tactic of pumping it up to a big donkey at CF is a tactic that is best played out at the lower levels of the game where skillis a rare commodity. Benteke was poor and did nothing to exercise his buyout clause, Mertesacker had him in his pocket and I can't recall a single telling contribution from Benteke. There is some irony in that Mertesacker scored with Benteke easily out jumped, but this only emphasis the point that set piece moves can be carried out by CBs whereas in open play, give me Aguero or before him Tevez, both strong running forwards who scared defenders with pace, skill and versatility.

No one running off the ball though for Villa so hard for Benteke, easy for the stumps at the back for Arsenal

villas player put no effort in whatsoever, there midfield just didn't look forward all game. Players like delph and cleverly just dont seem to have it in them to pass forward. I think sheer wood is a good manager, but they need investment especially up front and midfield.

Need to change the thread title. Villa never turned-up, let alone "starred".

Baffling hoofer tactics from Sherwood. Where was the Villa that we played just a few weeks back?

Felt sorry for Zidannerly mind - normally brilliant, just didn't happen for him today.

Villa were crushed. Carzolla was magnificent. That said why the fuck didn't Moss give Villa a free kick on the edge of the box or the blatant pen near the end. Awful reffing - anyone would think he wanted Villa to score Nil.

One of the most one sided FA Cup Finals I have seen. Alexis Sanchez is brilliant. I'd have given him MOTM
