The Fallowfield Stadium

Is any of it still there ?
Richmond Park Student Halls apparently now.

I think it was to the north east of the junction of Whitworth Lane and Gunnery Lane.

Looks like scousers mis-behaving that prevented any more FA cup ties being held there. Colour me shocked!

In 1899 another FA Cup semi-final was staged at the ground, or rather was supposed to have been staged. This time it was the second replay between Sheffield United and Liverpool, the first two games having been drawn. The game was scheduled for a Monday afternoon and more than 30,000 turned up but with the crowd continually spilling onto the pitch, the referee had to abandon the game at half-time with Liverpool leading 1-0. That game marked the end of Fallowfield as a ground for major football matches.

Scousers turning up without tickets? No way

Me too.Ripped my palms and knees to shreds once day riding my BMX at the top of the slope and some twat had left sand on it and my wheels went from under me.

Used to also play footie on the grass and lark about in the long jump.
Haha we used to mess around in there as well on our bikes. Pretty lethal but a great laugh
It was known to kids round our way as ‘Alley Stadium’ which may well have been a bastardisation of Harris Stadium
My old dear worked at Fallowfield Campus for years and they built over it in the late 90s iirc with new halls sited between Owens Park and the university sports grounds on Moseley Road
