The Farmers Protests in London

I presume JSO don’t pre notify of road closures? Isn’t their whole MO surprise and disruption which is why they end up in court?

Now once a road is closed due to protest I suspect ambulances are notified and rerouted - ie it sorts itself out fairly quickly, and no different if an accident closes a road?
Not sure that worked, given the photo with an ambulance behind the tractors going round yesterday.

Still, a solid attempt to justify one protest and vilify another.

Like I say there is no chance an ambulance would be going down a known closed road. None whatsoever. That photo is as fake as stories of farmers delaying ambulances back in December.

No idea whether that photo is real or not but I remember a video back in December showing tractors blocking an ambulance with its lights on.

The next stage in the cyclical debate is questioning the veracity of the photo.
Then the other side can question the veracity of the photos of ambulances stuck because of JSO protests.

Protests are designed to disrupt. Both are going to have an impact on emergency services getting to their required destinations.

It’s just that one protest is more equal than the other, dependent where one’s sympathies lie.

Driving their £250,000 tractors that are 100% tax-deductible in the year of purchase (with cheap Red Diesel that is only available to farmers ) funded by the grants and subsidies that taxpayers cough up, in order to protest because they are being asked to pay half the rate of Inheritance Tax on 6 times the starting point for the rest of us, with a special allowance of 10 years to pay!

Entitled Fuckers, who are scroungingon an industrial scale.

They have so many special allowances and arrangements (such as the choice of 2 or 5 farmers tax averaging) that they will hardly ever pay income tax. With VAT they have the best of both Worlds being Zero-rated where they don't have to charge VAT but they can claim it back unlike you or I when we buy something.

If they don't like the special treatment they are now being offered for IHT the Government should just treat them like everyone else - £500K limit and 40% tax.

If they have to sell a field to pay it so be it, the field will still be farmed, just by someone else.

Nearly half the farmers in the country rent land rather than own it and they have to pay rent to landowners. Tenant farmers are not affected by this as they don't own the land, and they are the ones that need support, not the rich landowners.

If you own £3million of farmland and can't make enough money to pay a bit of IHT then you are either a shit farmer, a shit businessmen or more likely an out and out liar. If you can't make money when you have no rent to pay then why the fuck should you be supported by hard-pressed taxpayers?
Great post.

I'm sick of these grumpy, privileged twats, land grabbing the entire country, polluting the rivers and lakes with pesticides, fertilizers and raw sewage.

Our countryside used to be a rain forest. It was the lungs of our planet. Now they have cleared every patch of land and fenced it off so that cows can shit in our water supply, and ruin the atmosphere with methane gases.

And we all bend over backwards to make it happen for them. Driving brand new tractors that cost the same as a Lamborghini supercar. Yet, they claim to be skint at the same time? How does that work?

And they love to turn a blind eye to fox hunting, badger baiting, shooting and trapping on their land. Yet they have the brass neck to proclaim that they are saving the countryside, when they are completely destroying it on an industrial scale.

It is real. As you state too we had all this in December with them not giving 2 fucks about the Emergency services.

don’t have an issue with protests but wonder why the farmers haven’t protested about the damage Brexit has done to their industry. It all seems very political

London Ambulance have said there were no recorded delays attributed to the December protests.

Now that doesn’t mean ambulances flowed freely and I suppose they don’t record “delays due to traffic conditions” which they’d experience everyday trying to navigate around a city like London.

They may not have recorded it but I could see it with my eyes. So you saying it was fake was incorrect.

If you zoom in on the persons legs in front of the ambulance it isn't showing in the gap, looks like a Photoshop job to me.

I only asked for links to his “widely reported” 3 deaths?

Would have saved the last few pages had he replied but I will be generous and say maybe he hasn’t seen my post although I’m not going to hold my breath for any sort of proof of his claim.
