If Pellegrini plays his expansive football we have been promised there should be plenty of goals , a 4-3 or 3-2 win would set the trend for the season , team

HART ZABS KOMPANY LESCOTT CLICHY MILNER YAYA DINHO SILVA JOVETIC DZEKO

NAVAS / AGUERO / NEGREDO TO PLAY THE LAST 30 MINS.
You do realize that Malaga were pretty good defensively too last season, right? Everyone seems to think Pellegrini is someone that is just all out attack and doesn't know how to defend.

First XI: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Milner, Ferni, Yaya, Nasri, Silva, Dzeko.

Subs: Pants, Zaba, Garcia/Barry, Rodwell, Navas, Jovetic, Negredo

Expect the 3 second half changes to be Navas (70), Jovetic (75) and Negredo (80) for Milner, Nasri and Dzeko, respectively.

2-0 HT (Dzeko, Milner)
4-0 FT (Dzeko, Jovetic)

Crowd 47,300

City will kick towards South Stand in First Half, towards Family Stand in Second Half.

We will NOT run out of chips!!

Pellegrini's first team sheet is very difficult to predict.

On the one hand, he's a pragmatist who may be hesitant to play all four new signings at once just in case they need time to adapt to the pace of the Premiership.

On the other, I imagine he's keen to get them bedded in early and make a strong start to the campaign.

Difficult to call, and the pre-season friendlies so far haven't really given a hint either way. I imagine the line-up against Arsenal on Saturday may give more clues.

At a push, I'd go for:

Hart
Zabaleta
Kompany
Lescott
Clichy
Yaya Toure
Fernandinho
Silva
Navas
Jovetic
Dzeko

Subs: Pantilimon, Richards, Boyata, Milner, Rodwell, Nasri, Negredo

As the squad stands at present, I'd go

Hart

Zabaleta
Clichy
Kompany
Lescott

Fernandinho
Y. Toure

Navas
Silva

Jovetic
Dzeko

Subs: Pantilimon, Richards, Garcia, Milner, Rodwell, Nasri, Negredo

-- Thu Aug 08, 2013 8:11 am --

Really strong looking team we have isn't it?, with so many other options.
Can't wait for the 19th.

------------------------Hart------------------------
-Zaba--Kompany--Lescott--Clichy
---------Yaya----Fernandinho------------
---Milner------Silva------Jovetic---
---------------Negredo----------------

I'm thinking it's going to be

Hart
Zaba - Vinny - Lescott - Clichy
Yaya - Rodwell
Navas - Silva - Jovetic
Negredo

or

Hart
Zaba - Vinny - Garcia - Clichy
Yaya - Barry
Milner - Silva - Nasri
Dzeko

no doubt pellegrini did well with Malaga with the players and resources he had there , but when he managed Real and he had a squad of similiar quality to ours , Madrid scored 102 goals and conceded 35 , so i think we are in for an entertaining season

Based on what I saw live in the Allianz Arena, Silva and Navas are going to be a lethal partnership. Therefore, I'd play them together from the start. However, bringing Navas on later against a tired full back is going to cause absolute havoc.

It's up to you, Don Manuel. You wanted two top class players for every position and, more or less, you've got what you asked for. It's now your shout as to how exactly you set up the team, although this could obviously depend on who we're playing, where we're playing, if it's the Premier League or Champions League . . .

Forget all this speculation. In Pellegrini we trust!

Especially when you consider we'd have Aguero and Nastasic to return!! And hopefully a new centre back.
