I didn't know that but yeah it's a long drive to Scrabster, a solid 8.5 hours. Last leg on A9 is hard work, scenic mind. And then you have to be at ferry port an hour early for a 90 minute sail.

Anyone who hasn't been to Orkney just drive on A635 towards Holmfirth from Dovestones and you may as well be on main Orkney Island as it looks similar, bleak as fuck.
