The FOC thread.

Along with a ploughman's and pork pie the earliest iteration of gastro pub dining.

I had actually forgotten about these delights although I ate many a cheese and tomatoe in my pub at dinner days (late teens/ early 20s, when life was fun and simple) :-)
proper ploughmans...

Omg! The ploughman's par excellence was served at The George and Dragon King St, Leigh circa 1976-1980. Being a Greenalls house though the beer was dreadful particularly the lager.

Proper food rather than out of a packet. Crusty bread, butter massive wedge of cheddar, 2 slices thick ham, 2 pickled onions, a tomato, lettuce and loads of chutney. Sadly,I got sensible in 1980 and stopped pubbing at lunch.

I couldn't eat that ploughman's now though too much food. Pasta salad or a salmon sandwich is lunch choice now!
