The FOC thread.

As an moaning FOC I believe it is my duty to point out that the pension age is shortly going up to 67 and at that age they believe you are perfectly capable of driving a forty ton artic up and down the country for forty hours or more a week. They also believe that three years later at 70 you are a danger and likely to cause multiple fatalities driving your Nissan Micra to the local supermarket
 
For any Sky viewers: I've just been told about 'Talking Pictures' - a channel under the Movies section - which shows not only some low budget films, but also some real old gems.

I've just set it to record the final ever episode of Jack Hargreaves' 'Out of Town'. This was Dad's absolute favourite and I haven't heard the theme tune for 40/50 years - will be pretty emotional.

Anyway - take a look, bound to be some evocative stuff on there.

They also show a lot of the old stuff like Thunderbirds, Stingray and the like

This stuff used to fire the imagination of a 10-year-old so much more than the endless, formula smart-mouthed cartoon characters you see (advertised - I don't watch them :-)) these days.

I remember being absolutely terrified watching that Thunderbirds episode with the giant alligators...
