Anybody remember Mercurochrome - bright red antiseptic for stings/bites/cuts? Bit unusual in this country where bright yellow iodine was and is de rigeur.?
Keep strong mate. If you need to unburden there are plenty on here who will listen and try to help you.I’m not doing too badly, thanks.
It’s slowly getting better, but I will still hear or read something that will set me off into a flood of tears.

Thanks.I liked your post because I want you to know that people do listen, hope you're managing mate.
I think most on here can resonate with your pain, take care mate and keep on posting.Thanks.
I’ve been overwhelmed by the support and sympathy I’ve received on here.
Bluemoon really is a fantastic community.
Brave woman, I honestly think I'd projectile vomit if I drank that shit nowMrs Vienna drank Camp right up until the end.
My mum would use that but she would also pick comfy and dry it for sprains and bruises. Whenever I had a sprained ankle she'd soak it in boiling water and when cooled put it on some lint. Comfy side went on the skin with a bandage on. Worked a treat.Witch Hazel generally bruises and cure all.
The very best to you, blue.I’m not doing too badly, thanks.

A bad knee cut now warrants a 999 call demanding an ambulance right away!!Great seeing all these old medicines. They must have worked to some extent because we’re all still here. My 2 spinster Aunts, real ones, had a small wooden medicine cabinet with dinky drawers and compartments and many of these items in there for emergencies. Iodine and Sal Volataly come to mind, iodine slapped on for cuts and the other if you felt a bit faint I think. I once had a really bad knee cut, out came the really hot water and iodine, slapped on, and no matter how you howled, “this will do you good!”
My mum did that too, but it was Comfrey ;)
