I know this is going to sound weird but we are back in the late sixties.
Someone at my primary school had done some 'finger painting' in the boys bogs.
All the boys had to go to their classes they drew the curtains and you had to show your undies. If they were skidded you got a note to take home to your parents. A couple of the lads had gone commando and they got a note too. It was either undercracker change day for me or I had a brown pair on, I cannot recall. I don't think they ever identified the culprit.

A cistern above your head as you pulled the chain that was made of cast iron and weighed as much as a mini when full, it was usually held on the wall attached to two pieces of 2x4, I wonder how many people died by these things landing on their heads?

A Mr Whippy van used to stop right across our drive, and all the mums would come and stand in the road, happily chatting away whilst we'd be buzzing around the serving hatch, desperate for him not to drive off before we could buy ours (as if).

About the only vehicle that could ever interrupt our street match without anybody yelling at it.

Only a couple of months to go before I achieve the status of the select few (many) and officially become a FOC, albeit only a junior one.

Mine was Hot Buttered Soul by an up and coming guy called Isaac Hayes. It’s stood the test of time too as I still listen to it - contained only 4 songs and 2 were cover versions of Walk On By and By The Time I Get To Phoenix, and they’re as superb now as they were back then.

Isaac Hayes bloody hell theres a name I`d forgotten about. Didn`t he do the theme tune for the Film "Shaft" ?
