The FOC thread.

You are correct. The ss50 was a honda 4 stroke, the fs1e was a yamaha two stroke, both 50cc.
The bike in the picture, on a ramp, isn't a motorbike, it's a pedal bike. You can see the chain and sprocket, and there's no engine.
Actually incorrect, Yamaha did do an ss 50
As did Honda , Honda complained copyright so Yamaha changed the name to fs1e.
I know because I had a candy gold Yamaha ss
In 75 good for an indicated 55 the Suzuki ap50 was quicker as were the notoriously unreliable Italian bikes garelli, gilera etc
Been riding bikes ever since and now on a new triumph tiger 900. Problem being I’ve got 3 collapsed discs and can barely ride the fucker.

Don’t forget the elegant Puch Grand Prix, Fizzies were the best though

Dickie Davis calling football soccer?

What ever happened to Grandstand and World of Sport?
I used to what Grandstand every Saturday.

It's no surprise to me, thinking about how common the term soccer was back in the day.

It wasn't unusual at all. I remember as kids in the 60's we'd often say it, and read any publication from that period and the term is frequently used.

Yes, this was established earlier in the thread that the yam ss50 was a thing, and I held my hands up admitting I'd never heard of it. I wasn't alone either. Happy to be corrected, still learning after all these years mate.
Sorry to hear about your back,
My old man had similar, but he had the op that fused the vertebrae together, which gave him less pain but restricted his movement a bit.
Is that not an option for you? (Without wishing to be nosey)

They won’t operate because I’ve no numbness in my legs so it’s the pain clinic for me, no idea what’s in store for me there
I tried cleaning my bike today seeing as the weathers perked up, bad idea I can barely stand now, standing up and sitting down is torture. Anyway your not being nosey mate
I started a thread about it yesterday looking for advice on a few things and sorry for repeating what you already read on the fs1e
I didn’t read all the thread.

No worries bud, sorry to hear that, backs are a nightmare I know. I hope you can get some relief. I'll have a look at the thread you started, I may be able to contribute something after all my old man went through.
Good luck.
