I bought a burger after the match and was told it was £4.50 as I went to pay.

I didn't look at the prices which is my fault but asked them to keep it and have my money back which they duly did.

The girl behind the counter said blame Jamie Oliver.

I will be priced out of the stadium in a few seasons. I had issues with this but now I've come to accept it.

I hope not mate. The club needs to be careful about alienating its sore fanbase, which any more steep increase in pricing would accelerate. We need to get new fans onboard, but the club would lose its identity if that was their only objective. There's a balance to strike between old and new fans and I hope they realise this. Time will tell, I guess.

And my view is they (City) want to attract the new, younger fanbase with an interest but no club (fifa generation) who would change their club allegiance faster than we would.
By making them feel more comfortable the fanbase changes from that traditional football supporter to the more corporate loving global fanbase...local Season ticket holders out, Tourists with flights on Etihad from China every game in.

This is just my perception and hopefully I am wrong.

No matter what we say there are a lot of Manchester based/Manchester born fans in the rags stadium. Luckily for them they have many seats to ram the hyper cashed up tourists in as well

I finally cracked at half time as I hadn't eaten since the night before.

£ 3.80 for 1 chicken balti pie! (I refused to pay £ 5.50 for the posh ones) & £ 4.00 for a pint.

Walked back down the concourse to watch the tv (it wasn't working) only to find with my 1st bite that it wasn't chicken. I think it was steak. My second bite came with a mouth full of mushrooms. If it's got mushrooms in it please say so on the menu. Mushrooms make some of us sick.

Something to wipe your hands on would also have been good.

I'm not sure about this 'other grounds have similar prices' theory. If it was £ 100.00 per ticket & £ 10.00 per pie would it be ok because someone else charges the same?

I applaud the idea of better food, but surely it's just decent food, at a reasonable price with good service that most of the fans want. My maths isn't great but I would have thought that 5000 people buying a pie for £ 2.50 would be better than 1000 people buying one for £ 5.50. I imagine that the price puts most people off, but I don't know that as a fact.

Anyway it will be back to £ 2.16 a pint in the pub & £ 1.20 for a pie from the chippy. As people have said, I have the choice.

Bought a pulled pork sandwich and chips, both were were good. Was it worth paying the extra rather then getting meat pie and chips at the chippy? Not so sure in terms of enjoyment but probably a bit of a healthier option.

Will probably try the hot dog next time round.
