I agree but thats the way it is.

I am fortunate to be not too worried about the price.
I can fully understand why people cannot aford the prices and choose to eat elsewhere.
I go with a mate and my 10 year old son and it suits me better to get in the stadium as soon as it opens. That is what City are trying to do , get you in there early.
I love the build up to the game , the razmattaz and I get my 3 pints and now some decent scran.
It suits me and plenty others.

Lets face it , drinking and eating in deepest Beswick is not for the faint hearted

Well i hope if ever i have more money in life i will refrain from name calling those without, Your name should be Boycie not Toffeballs.

City are the most fan friendly , pro active and forward thinking football club on this planet and all some of you can do is fucking moan moan moan.

Stadium is shite , Maine Rd blah blah
Trams are shite
Food is overpriced shite
Filling in fans surveys are shite.
Last season was shite

Mancunian moaning bastards

What do you expect on a thread asking for people's comments on the food. Or should only people saying the food and service are wonderful be allowed to post

Well, I can leave home slightly earlier, call at a chippy and off license not too far away from the stadium, procure a fish chips and curry sauce, plus a tinny of Red Stripe or similar, sit in the car and devour and the cost will be less than a fiver
Stadium food is for emergencies only and at those prices if I'm caught in an emergency situation I think I'll be leaving the stadium hungry
£5.50 for a fucking pie and £3.50 for a portion of chips!!!!!!!!!

Just what I do if I've not eaten after work.

I'll maybe have a pie/ hot dog at some stage during the season if I'm out on the beer and have an urge but that's all.

Waited a good 25 mins at the Blue Moon cafe outside the ground for what looked nothing like the posh burgers I've been seeing on here - had not realised the premium stuff was only in selected outlets. To be fair the burger and chips were very good, but the bun was a bit dry. Son said he wished we'd been to This and That like normal.

No one is forced to buy it. The option is there though should you wish. Name one sporting arena that does cheap food?

OK course your right but just think how ground breaking and how much we'd sell if it was all half as much to buy. We'd still make a profit and have more in the ground drinking more etc.

I think we need to give the club a fair go here to be fair. They have invested some serious money into the catering with this project and very simply they didn't have to. They could have just left it as it is like the majority of other clubs - but they didn't! So credit where it is due.
Lets give them another couple of home games to sort the teething problems out and then judge.
Sometimes as City fans these days we really don't know when we are well off! Lets not take things for granted. I remember
one time at Maine Road on the first day of the season they ran out of Twixt bars at 2.00pm - and thats 100% true.
Lets count our blessings and get behind the club on this one. its for OUR benefit and no one else's after all.

I know a man at a catering establishment and this is exactly what they do, standard practice. Grub yields 30% profit. The drink you swill it down with yields 70% or more.

Otherwise, it sounds like the new catering firm are still trying to get work done by young people on the lower rate minimum wage. Good luck.

Its a creditable nice touch though if they're giving away unsold but prepared food at the end of the match, I find avoidable food waste unethical.

Did I really just read "the bun was a bit dry" lol

Ah this thread is going to throw up some right corkers, I cant wait.

I'd like to see some decent puds as part of these better food offerings, either a raspberry roulade or a possibly a chantilly tarte.

Could someone get the cockney chef for me?

As somebody else said, let's not forget where we've come from. I was at Villa Park for the 0-0 in the season Billy McNeill had a hand in relegating both teams.

They ran out of Bovril at half time. There could have been a riot.

What price would you pay? And for what?

You think £5.50 for a pie is reasonable? Fish chips peas and gravy is cheaper on the way to the ground, instead of Jamie Oliver they should have brought in Greggs!
Ermm. Yes I do.
My beer bill came to about £60 last night, not quite sure how I managed that, but had a good night.

I have had a lot of Meat & Potato pies in my life and I have the gut to prove it.

Hand on heart it was the best one I've ever had. It was like a homemade pie at a country pub. The pastry was perfect and the filling very tasty. Hot throughout as well which was a nice change.

£3.80 is undeniably expensive, but if you dont want to spend that much on a pie, then dont get one (or wait until full time when you can get one for free you lucky swines).

Personally I thought the staffing was a considerable improvement too.

What planet do you live on? Get a grip... five and half quid for a fuckin pie is daylight robbery and you're a mug if you pay it.

In the family stand tier 2 after the final whistle they were giving pies and hot dogs away for free.

We got 2 chicken balti and 1 meat and potato pie plus one hot dog for the three of us.

I had a balti pie and it was lovely, being free always makes it taste better.

My lad said the hot dog was not nice.
they did that level 2 in the south stand too.

THEY ALSO DID THAT IN EL3 had a hot dog which was nice and for free AND FROM A YORKSHIRE MAN CARNT BEAT IT

Did you want the bun to be wet?
