The Food (merged)

Thought the food was fantastic today at a relatively low price. After testing the Oliver fare against Newcastle, today we returned to Tony's Stadium Chippy, excellent.

Probably only use J.O. on the odd occasion in future

-- Sat Aug 31, 2013 11:36 pm --

I had a steak mince pie this afternoon. Very nice. Not too expensive. But I ordered a meat and potato!

Didn't you know by the shape before you bit in?

Defended the food last home game, had a pulled pork sandwich today that they let me pay for then made me wait 15 mins as there wasn't any pork, after queuing already for 15 mins before paying I wasn't best pleased and it was fucking shite with rock hard lumps of scratching in it that I managed to chip one of my teeth on. I might normally only spend 7-8 quid a game on food or drink but that's another customer gone, never to return, sort it out City for fucks sake because it really is embarassing.

At those prices. No thanks.

Jumped off the Tram at picc. Gardens and got myself a sausage roll and cheese pastie for under £2

Rip off City

ok... a bit more reasonable at half the price then and good value at around a third of the price ;-)

The girl who served me today threw my bottle top (coke) in the bin before passing it me. I asked the supervisor why it happened and he said she shouldn't have done it and would I like it back...out of the bin.
Staff have not been trained to anywhere near the degree required to make things quicker and easier, though its only fair to give them a couple of weeks to iron out any teething problems.
Pie was nice again on a positive note. :-)

Following the great burger disaster against Newcastle I approached today with some trepidation.

Up to level 3 and following comments on here I thought I'd try a pie.

Meat and potato. What a bloody good pie it was too. Tasty and packed with filling. Served by a pleasant lad who knew what he was doing and how to serve a customer.

Great effort City

i presume beer makes the most the money at half time so fuckin why oh why it is impossible to get a pint before half time as finished....if i go up after the half time whistle there is no way i can get a pint and drink it before the second half.....fucking disgrace

Completely agree.
Employ more people to serve fans and then they will serve more fans / sell more beer............

Before the match, my wife queued up for at least 10 mins to get a hotdog for the grandson. When it was her turn to be served, she was told they had sold out! She asked why nobody had just shouted that they had sold out, so everybody in the queue could then know, the assistant just shrugged her shoulders, and said next please! The wife wasn't happy.
10 minutes before half time, she goes up to get me a pint of Heineken, bar outside 123 had sold out! She went along to the one outside 126 they had sold out, then to another further up, and they poured her what looked like a 50/50 water lager mix. She said I'm not having that, so they poured another. (Which was ok in the end).
There was no sugar or stirrers for her brew, she went back to the bar, as was told they were at the dispensers. But they weren't, any left. And got handed 3 sugar cubes in a plastic pint pot. She then ordered a fanta for the little fella, handed over 3quid, the server put the 3quid in the till and shut the drawer. she put her hand out for the 50p change, and he said he'd have to radio for a supervisor to open the till!!
And this is before the half time whistle!! She complained to the manager, but fuck all will happen. She was fucking livid and said other than my lager, that's the last time she'll give the catering section a fucking penny.
The whole thing is a fucking shambles, normally praise city for most things, but its a fucking disgrace.
(Rant over)

Tried the pulled pork bap...it was very tasty ..excellent :)

I had the pork bap. It wasn't ready and was nothing like the one either at the Newcastle game or the launch.

the staff were also on a casual basis, there for the day only.we were told that would stop and city would "employ" their own people.

Big thumbs up from me. I had a burger just before kick off. Bread was excellent burger was big and juicy and despite being wrapped in foil backed paper locked good and not all sweaty and slimy. I can see Jamie's influence, having eaten at Jamie's Italian and 15 (Watergate Bay). It could have been warmer but that only slightly lessened my enjoyment. The
catering staff seemed to be working from a script but I'm sure things will improve match by match.

Had a hot dog yesterday without realising it was a JO expensive one.

Total rip off at £5 but was very tasty.

Wanted to try and a cheese and potato pie today but none in stock at my nearest food kiosk, even before kickoff.

So I got the £2.70 (or so) chips... a small cup that was about half full. I literally got around 12 or 13 chips. They were nice but I paid about 24p per chip. :)

At that price I'd expect it to be running my laptop!
