The FTSE

sorry, i am a complete ignoramus, i've just been drawn to this like a moth after a recent uptake in interest in this;

re GME; is stalemate the likely outcome for the very near term? if the hedgefund has alledgedly been covered for losses and the buyers are determined to 'hold' and go 'to the moon', then are they just locked? doesnt the everyday investor eventually lose as some will just want their money back eventually? is the hedgefund now effectively safe to wait it out?

sorry for any total ignorance

It’s still shorted to 138% of float.

Those with shorts are paying circa 50-60% interest and each shirt position has an end date at which point the shares have to be purchased.

ah yes, the interest, that's the one. And shorted to 138% means that 138% of shares that exist have been borrowed, which whilst baffling to me isnt actually illegal in itself?

so lot's other folks getting richer off some interest payments.

do you have any idea to the end dates? i read today but i dont think that was true. cheers

No one’s sure abs we don’t know how much of that 138% are new shorts bought at 500 USD etc with expiry dates of a month from now for example.

It was down to 122% at one point yesterday, so I suppose the difference is mostly new shorts?

Its the little investors taking on a corrupt hedge fund. The hedge fund borrowed shares and then tried to deflate their value so they could buy them at half price. The investors took them on and now the hedge will have to buy at an inflated price.
