The game is off

Wonder if this was ever in city's hands? Surely with our injuries and with Chelsea and Barca coming up,the club would have been pushing for this to be postponed at 3pm.

I can't see why the club would have wanted the game to go ahead when they had an opportunity to get it cancelled. Maybe it's a premier league or police decision.

Poor decision to call it off an hour before kick off leaving many fans stranded.

It was like that game against Everton a few years ago. Every prem game called off that weekend but low and behold our game is on sky and everyone is patting themselves on the back for getting the game to go ahead. It was dangerous that day walking up to the stadium with loads of people slipping and we ended up losing.

A great result the game being off, extra rest time and a re-arranged game when we'll have key players back.

Some don't care about that, mate. Much more English to bark 'it's a disgrace' at it because it inconvenienced you.

Think most of us are more annoyed at how late it was called off tbh,

Correct

Just got back.

Right decision but farcical to leave something so obvious so late in the day.

My dad was almost blown into the traffic on Ashton Old Road.

Bonus for City, a rest advantage over Chelsea and our big guns back for the rearranged game.

yeah it was pretty amateur, mcfc twitter didnt say anything either. we were ok tho someone told us.

to those wondering why it was PP'd its because the vast majority of fans would of had serious problems getting there, lots of roads were blocked off, and it was plain dangerous. Lots of trees and lorries blowing over.

have we got a roof? no. it will still get windy in an arena stadium
He's in the stadium so his opinion might be a bit more informed than yours.

sorry .... if you think strong winds can't enter an open-top area stadium, then you are a bit thick, in my informed opinion.

It happens mate, and sometimes it happens close to kick off. It's been done because it was deemed that there were safety issues, and that could only be genuinely determined when the storm hit. I'm sure the police didn't say "let's make a decision at 6.20pm". I'm sure they sat there constantly monitoring the situation and took the call once they knew there was a problem.

The police can't wing it when lives are at risk. And they'd have got fucking hammered by the 'disgrace' brigade if they'd called it off this morning because of the forecast of wind.

Fucking brilliant. Someone at home is arguing with someone in the stadium over whether it's windy in the stadium. Can't beat Bluemoon at times.

No good for our injured players and safe for us. It's a nightmare out there. Someone will be killed on the roads. It's only football. Fuck it.

It's just annoying it was left so late that's all
Fair enough. Silly that given the warnings all the day that the police didn't call it sooner
