The misplaced joy and pride here is nothing short of hilarious. Why don't people appreciate the histoy of wafer thin majority governments? They always end in disarray and disaster. Look at the list pf past victims in my previous post to get an idea of the sluggy one's likely fate. It will not end well....

... and stop being giddy.
Read the rule changes on votes of no confidence

Then cry.

You are wasting your time. She has spent all day repeating this stuff. She has her fingers in her ears and she is just singing "lalala. I can't hear you"
That's what happens when you drown your sorrows with cooking sherry.

She's basically just lost a derby match 1-6 at home but is claiming it's good as they were able to see how fast they could empty the stadium in the event of a fire.

Bloody jelly you guys don't half have some time on your hands. This thread has moved momentously.

Been trying to keep an eye on it, but only just got the time to post.

As most, shocked with the result. The polling industry needs a reset I think.

On a political note, hopefully the growth continues. Said countless times I think the growth is being driven more by confidence rather than governmental intervention. But let's see.

I hope we can gain some sense of normality about immigration and the eu

Really got a sense that the Tory line of the last year was predominantly down to the desire to win the election.

I fear for the referendum, don't know how it would be implemented in practice if we do exit. But now will just hope that the "in" camp markets itself well enough.

Finally, I think I speak for posh, pretty people everywhere when I say we do, in fact, make extremely good leaders.

You forgot rich :-)

Cheers mate, we stick together our lot!

True, except I'm ugly :-(

This is brilliant. He's such a blindingly ridiculous twat.

He admits he genuinely thought he was going to be a huge influence in the Election. Worth a watch for the usual lot who aren't that big fans of him.

Not if they lose a vote of confidence.

How? With an overall majority plus the DUP
If 100 or more rebel over the EU then the DUP won't save them. That's reckoned to be at least the number of hard-core anti-Europeans.

Whereas there will doubtless be rebels along the way, do you really think any back benchers would vote against it's own party in a vote of confidence? Not a chance.

What would they seek to gain from that, when the Labour opposition are opposed to any referendum at all and UKIP have no realistic prospect of ever forming a government. All it would achieve would be a possibly enlarged Tory majority after the ensuing general election, or the handing of power to Labour, which no Tory could ever want, and even less so given that Labour are more pro-Europe than the party they would have ousted.

I lasted 1:09 before I had to switch him off. Unfortunately I could only switch the video off, not the human being.

Stupid but not as stupid as I expected, compassion i agree with.

The result wasn't a complete surprise. Said weeks back that I could see Tories holding on again and UKIP making inroads to the Labour vote as well as the Tories.
However, to those who like to see the Public Service shrink; you will get your way and then some. However, it will be horrible and the people that use it will notice. The public service is used by everyone, even if it's just renewing your passport. The front line of public service will be decimated, not just those 'made up' jobs that people refer to. Our public service was once recognised as the finest in the world but it's now treated like a leper.

This is my problem with Brand - "we need a compassionate society" literally means nothing at all. Any act can be skewed as "compassionate". You could say that the Holocaust was a compassionate act where millions of people were helpfully clothed, fed and given a job by the state then allowed to enter paradise earlier than expected.

Compassion is a spin word that politicians use entirely because it means everything and nothing. When Brand says it what he is actually saying is "I don't know what to do"

Nobody likes a sore loser, so congratulations and well done to the Tories, an unexpected win, but a very good win none the less. All the crying and bleating from the 'left' is no use now, suck it up, there is 5 years of this, so it was a close majority win, its still a win, bitching and sniping is like the rags saying that goal difference shouldnt count as a title decider. Dave will be able to keep the right in check with the EU vote, he will have the DUP on hand to prop him up if at all needed. There is very little chance of there being 66% of MP's to go against him to get a vote of no confidence, regardless. Labour supporters can clutch at straws if they like, its the only thing preventing them crying into their beaker duvet covers at night, but the fact is you'd much rather be in the Tory position than your own. I dont think the SNP will hold the power the now have in Scotland forever, so Labour will be back, they deserve more pain after Blair and Brown in anycase, hopefully with a good man like Alan Johnson at the helm.

Gutted the greens didnt pick up another seat or two, the only real socialist party these days, and despite despising most of what they stand for UKIP as well, i'd have liked both parties to have at least another couple of MP's. Give the house of commons more of a reflection of what the country actually voted for, something is not right that so many more in Britain, voted UKIP than SNP but the jocks (mostly that **** Salmond) are going to have much more of a say over English matters.

I am going to have to eat some humble pie when i see my dad, as i said no way would his man get an overall majority, fact is he did.

Edit: it was fucking funny to know Ed Bollocks lost his seat the smarmy ****. Highlight of the evening for me.

Conservative loss = 3 X Magnums 1996 boerl & kroff brut

Green Party loss = 1 x wind turbine that nobody actually wanted.

Leave the greens alone, i am going to follow the theme of this thread and get all upset that you have made a joke about my party and call you a ****. You ****. You are ruining the planet with your attitude and are a selfish wankshaft. I'm off to knit a yogurt and hug some trees.

PS the greens had their most MP's standing ever, also in proportion had less deposits returned than usual. The future is green...
