It was pathetic then and it's just as pathetic now.
Why is it pathetic?
Should a party which claims it wants to take Britain forward to more fairness and diversity agree to let senior members speak to an audience segregated by sex?
Does Labour condone sex segregation?
malg said:It's a cultural thing though isn't it. I have no idea how those women feel about not being allowed to sit with the fellas, probably happy! I do wonder what would happen if one of the women objected though?whp.blue said:Len Rum said:Already been posted mate by someone else.

Just why is it pathetic I think it raises a valid point
Segregation is never acceptable especially when it enforces sexual stereotyping
How old is the picture though?

"Controls on immigration"
?
Either Labour have adopted a policy of leaving the EU or they're just writing bullshit promises about policy areas over which they have no control.
Which is it?

Oh Cultural That old chestnut
You are aware that in Islamic communities it is cultural to practice hadith (quotes from the life time of the prophet)
So you would gladly argue it is ok to take a girl aged nine into your bed because it is a cultural thing?

It would appear they do and it puts them in direct conflict with their largest financial backers, The Unions, who fight discrimination at every opportunity.
Are you seriously trying to suggest Margaret Thatcher was a woman?Lucky13 said:whp.blue said:urmston said:Why is it pathetic?

It's been 40yrs since Lady Thatcher became the first female leader of a political party in the UK, the Socialists , the Party of equality never have, looking at that picture and reading the posts of the apologists of segregation I'd suggest they never will.

Who says it's OK to bed a 9 year old? I'm pretty sure that isn't practised by anyone living in the UK. Oh, and at no point did I say I agreed with the segregation - you've taken it that way, then veered off into something about pumping 9 year olds!
I'm guessing it's a Labour Party meeting in an area where culturally women don't have the same rights as men. I'm stunned it's allowed to go on, but I'd suggest that if the candidate told them that the seating was to be non segregated, then no one would turn up. Unfortunately, in this case they've had to play to their audience.
Think Ed looks class in that suit, don't you?Chancy Termites said:
It'll be a piss stone by next weekend.Zuriblue said:The stone might not be such a bad idea. Labour have been using these 6 pledges since the start of the campaign but on the whole they have been ignored by the media in favour of things like bacon sandwiches. With this the pledges are getting a lot of traction, especially as the Tories have been tweeting pictures of the original stone. Sure it's a gimmick but is there such a thing as bad publicity?
