The Norwegian football season begins on the 20th March. Is there anyone here with easy access to Norwegian football that would be able to keep tabs on our two African players?

Oh yes,Strømsgodset is my local team as long as i live in Norway,i will attend almost every home game and many away matches when we play against other teams in the Greater Oslo region,so i can keep u guys updated.I watched most of his games the last season as well and he is clearly a good prospect

Ghanaian youngster Mohammed Abu scored his first goal for Norwegian side Stromsgodset in their 6-2 demolition of Asker in an exhibition game on Saturday afternoon.

The 18-year-old, on loan from Manchester City, scored the fourth goal of the game while striker Eirik Markegård hit an astonishing five.

Markegård scored on 4th, 19th and 37th minutes before Abu added his name to the scoresheet three minutes before recess.

Asker pulled one back but Markegård scored another double to complete a resounding win for the next season’s Europa League campaigners.

The Norwegian league begins next week and Abu together with Adam Kwarasey and another Manchester City loanee Razak Nuhu will play for Stromsgodset

A titbit from Ghanasoccernet posted on Newyears day.

The last time I spoke to Mohammed Abu, he told me he was working hard enough wrest the holding midfield role from Nigel de Jong at Eastlands and he is well on course.
It did not take him time to break into the Stromsgodset first eleven when he arrived for a loan spell in August, helping them to lift the NM Cup which gave them an automatic qualification for next season’s Uefa Europa League.

Abu is superior in midfield, can square up and create decent chances to score and also plays a deep lying role.

He is rated high at the Eastlands and as he returns to train with them before the Norwegian season City reserves coach will be proud of his signing

De Jong is 26, if he carries on and gets a new deal then Abu will be plying his trade on the bench
