on a yank forum i post on a lot of new posters have suddenly pledged alliance to man city and when i question them on why they are 'fans' of our team, the answers are all inadequate
Hi la la tool,

Who the fuck gave you any right to question the adequacy of anyone supporting OUR club? What the fuck are your credentials? Are you one of the kunts who turned your back on City & walked out at wembley when they were 2 down? Only to come running back & start bragging about how you deserted City in their hour of need? Talk me through your lineage of being a City fan - it must have started somewhere. Did you go as a kid? Did your dad take you? If so, who took your dad? Come on it must have started somewhere. Did your dad start going when City were doing well? Are you supporting City because of a glory hunting relative? Why deny others the same opportunity?
The thing about new supporters in emerging markets are that they will follow a team that best suits there attitudes. Some fans may be looking out to support a team such as City but didn't realise that they existed. A team that has fucked over its fans for so many years but whose fans are still there - they may look at that & say fuck it, that's what I want to be part of. Unfortunately, they come across grade A kunts like yourself - who were probably a result of a previous glory hunter - who may put them off.

i really fear if we keep our current rate of spending on players up, where is this gonna leave us fans? like chelsea's hardcore? supported thier team in the thousands in the 80's yet cant get in now? will we end up the same?

i want success like the rest of you, but i cant help but feel all of us who have supported the team for years are going to get slung aside for profits, and it will happen imo
With your attitude, you don't deserve it anyway.

We should encorage new fans. We were all new fans once.
Got to agree with this. We need the new supporters to start bringing new revenue in. Regardless of whether we get them or not, we're going to be slated by the press and other clubs fans, and with that in mind I don't really give a shit.

If the new fans buy a shirt or any merchandise then let them think they support our glorius club.

Increases our profits and makes us more renowned.

Yowza, that's harsh!

Ive been a city fan for 40 yrs , There have been times when ive been to every game home and away ( 80s) there have also been times where i havent gone for years, but they are MY team , I signed up for life back in 1969, i didnt think i had to prove my support every 5 years or so , because some kunt from ardwick or where ever, says he's more of a blue than me!!! at the moment i do have a season ticket, next year.............who knows? thats MY choice, whatever happens ill still be a blue, no bigger,no smaller than any other blue.......CTID

Being a Blue is something that comes from within. Supporters of other clubs sometimes cant understand that especially when we went down to the second but carried on going to the games. I know for a fact that 'fans' of a certain club certainly would not have done.
When i used to be asked why i still supported that "shitty club" my reply used to be "you will NEVER know mate. Its a feeling that you are someone a bit special. A band of brothers " to quote a phrase!
Anyway, here we are at last the envy of the world and the feeling of inner contentment , the knowledge that i/we were right all along and the overwhelming urge to brag (i wouldnt of course LOL) overcomes me.
As for so called Glory hunters, i welcome them in their hordes. Lets turn this City as Blue as we can!!
Come on Bobby, do it for us...............CTID

Could`nt agree with you more pal, I`m a born and bred Manc and extremely proud of it, supporting City is the natural thing to do, its MY CITY. However I have to admit i do find it odd that someone with no connection with Manchester whatsoever decides to support us, I ask myself the question could `I` support a team from say Birmingham for whatever reason, and it would be a resounding no/never/why would and could I, in my mind it would be like being a traitor to my own city. That said its down to individual choices, and for us to carry on going forward and get stronger we `need` to get as many people on board the good ship city as possible, from anywhere and everywhere, and if I see a city fan from Timbuktu he/she is still a city fan and is a fellow blue, lets be avin you !!! c`mon
