The greatest owners on Earth move against the flow of traffic

Thought this was going to be about the traffic getting away from the ground - I was ready to have a right moan!
 
So, we've barely had ten years of leadership by ADUG/CFG and the results to date have been impressive. We've gone places. There are more things than the below, I'm sure - and some things we haven't directly done but have been heavily influenced by MCFC's presence in East Manchester. Is there anything else in the timeline of a wonderful few years that deserves inclusion?

1/9/2008:
Abu Dhabi Utd Group takeover completed. A partnership with the Right to Dream Academy which allows them to cherry-pick the best talent from the academy once players graduate. Stories have circulated that City bought the academy and own it outright, though if this is true it has never been publicised.

1/9/08: Transfer deadline spectacular.

May 2009: Etihad sponsors MCFC. Nike-owned Umbro stepped in as brand supplier for the club's kits. Umbro instantly deliver three well-designed kits.

09/10 season: pre-season games feature commercial and prestigious games, with a victory at Barcelona a particular highlight.

18/8/2009: Etihad Stadium increase plans revealed.

2010: Under the terms of their agreement, Sporting Portugal signed with Manchester City a deal that they had previously had with Manchester United, to grant City first option on their players, specifically with a view to their youth talent.

2010: Strømsgodset IF, KV Mechelen and NEC Nijmegen join as a work permit club

7/8/2010: Platt Lane training complex upgraded.

10/11 season: After more than £126 million of player investment, City kick off the season. Numerous commercial pre-season tournaments had been entered.

19/10/10: City Square opens.

October 2010: Stadium lease was renegotiated. Manchester City will pay Manchester City Council £3 million a year rather than paying half the revenue over 35,000 ticket sales which amounted to approximately £2 million

19/11/10: Market Street flagship store opens, replacing the tucked away Arndale store.

December 2010: Etihad opened its premium lounge at Manchester airport, caked in MCFC decor.

25/2/11: MCFC reopen the memorial garden following a refurbishment.

July 2011: Etihad fly Blue Moon Rising aircraft globally.

July 2011: City join the World Football Challenge and Dublin Super Cup in a range of commercially beneficial pre-season friendlies.

2011: Espanyol and City have an agreement that involves loaning out youth players from Man City to Espanyol, and Espanyol getting first notice on players who are surplus to requirements at City.

11/12 season: Umbro incorporate Blue Moon soundwave into well thought of home kit. The away strip saw a return to the red-and-black stripes, the traditional Manchester City away colours that were famously introduced by the club's former co-manager Malcolm Allison in the 1960s

2012:
BK Häcken join as a work permit club

26/4/12: City Ladies accepted into WSL.

9/5/2012: An agreement was signed on 9 May 2012 for Gil Vicente to share their scouting network with Manchester City, granting CFG more specialised access to the Portuguese market, primarily for youth talent, while also allowing Gil Vicente to benefit from the group's more global reach.

27 July 2012: City face Arsenal in a friendly held at Beijing's Bird Nest Stadium. Many other commercial friendlies are present once again.

28/8/2012: City Ladies officially becomes part of MCFC.

14/9/2012: After over a year of consultation, City Football Academy permissions and construction contracts complete. Construction began immediately. Local economic benefits are evident. Regeneration follows.

11/2/2013: Etihad Campus Metrolink station and Velopark Metrolink station opened.

7/5/2013: New York City FC is founded.

2013: Ghana FC links in with MCFC. Each season their respective technical staff pool knowledge related to training players. Limerick signed a scouting network partnership agreement with City mainly owing to their desire to access the pool of talent coming from the Right to Dream Academy, whom City have a long-term understanding with. Consequently, Limerick will bring in a couple of young African players from the Academy every season.

2013: Djurgårdens IF join as a work permit club

2013: Beswick community hub Connell Sixth Form College opened.

2013: As part of a partnership with LG, the club upgrades the giant stadium screens.

13/14 season: Nike replaces Umbro as club brand supplier.

4/6/13: Manchester City announced a three-year agreement with Mpumalanga Black Aces of the South African Premier Soccer League to serve as their regional youth development partner. Under the agreement, the Black Aces will benefit from coaching links with and visits to and from Manchester City, while they will also serve as a regional centre of CFG's global youth development network and as a conduit for spreading Manchester City's name and style of football within their country. The agreement was signed a month before a Manchester City tour to South Africa.

14&18/7/13: City are invited to the Football Invitational in support of Mandela Day amongst many highly commercial pre-season friendlies.

2014: City Football Group founded.

2014: Beswick community hub Beswick Leisure Centre opened.

23/1/2014: Manchester City Women's Football Club replacing MCFC Ladies.

23/1/2014: CFG aquire 80% of Melbourne Heart, changing the club to Melbourne City FC in due course.

March 2014: Phase 1 of the Etihad Stadium expansion began.

17/4/14: NYCFC start academy.

20/5/2014: City Football Group had invested in a minority share of Yokohama F. Marinos, creating a partnership with both the football club and car manufacturer Nissan.

May 2014: Phase 2 of the stadium expansion was underway.

27/11/14: bridge between CFA and Etihad stadium opens.

14/12/2014: CFG open Etihad Campus/City Football Acadmey. Students of Manchester Metropolitan University host the first game.

2015: As a condition for their continuing existence in Major League Soccer, New York City FC along with all MLS clubs are expected to either affiliate with or own and operate a club competing in United Soccer League (USL). Rather than opting to field their own B-team, NYCFC signed a one-year affiliation with Wilmington Hammerheads of North Carolina. Their association involves close cooperation on training and player scouting, as well as a league-mandated commitment for at least four players to be loaned to the USL side.

2015: CFG found Melbourne City FC (W-League)

January 2015: FXPRIMUS join a growing list of MCFC partners.

February 2015: CFG open CFA Melbourne.

27/7/2015: Vietnam host MCFC in a historic game.

6/8/15: Nexen Tires partner MCFC.

August 2015: CFG completes 100% takeover of Melbourne City FC.

27/9/15: The Blue Moon Circle opens.

October 2015: Rugby World Cup game hosted at Etihad Stadium.

1/12/15: City Football China is founded following investment from Chinese backers. This joins the depths of CFG's businesses in City Football Marketing, City Football Services, City Football Japan, & City Football Singapore.

26/12/15: New crest unveiled, developed via a consultation with fans over 30 days.

Summer 2016: New crest to be adopted.

2016: World Rugby U20's Championship to be held at CFA Academy Stadium

2016: Beswick community hub Inst.of Health & Performance to open.

Summer 2017: Beswick community hub will be complete with the final office and retail developments to open.

2016 to be confirmed: Phase 3 Etihad Stadium North Stand Expansion. The development of the North Stand is the intended final phase of the stadium’s expansion and planning permission has already been granted. If this phase is completed, there will be another 6,000 additional seats, taking the stadium’s capacity to approximately 61,000, making the Etihad the second largest stadium in the Premier League.

2018 TBC: Collar site development to begin?

There's so much more to follow. I wonder how we'll be in the seasons that come. There is so much potential. Every time something great happens, something better seems to follow.

Like many others on here I'm waiting for the Collar Site and the Etihad Campus details to be revealed. That is the last piece of the jigsaw which will complete the area around the stadium.

What are you expecting for the site?
 
I years to come there will be a book written about what's gone on since the takeover, what's happening right now and what's not even happened yet.
What a great read it will be!
