I've been the same, my last 2 or 3 votes haven't been for who I wanted but for who I didnt want.

Reform are almost nailed on in my area next time, I doubt I will be able to vote to keep them out, so I will get to vote for who I want this time.

They're the only party recognising where the issue is.

Yeah the honesty, especially when it is about their position towards each other, is really quite striking and makes you realise how low most of our discourse has sunk.

You might be right re. reach but Stevenson's got a much much bigger online presence than the Green Party (something like 1.5M compared to 20K subs on YT and about x5 on IG and tiktok) so I assume Polanski is looking to leverage that and accelerate progress. They'll still be an element of preaching to the choir but hopefully they'll begin to make a dent.

Will be interesting to see how much traction the Let's Make Hope Normal Again video/campaign can achieve.

Its a minor point but I dont see it that way at all, hes probably wise enough to realise they need to be known for more than one issue especially as most are far too selfish to concern themselves with the environment.
It will always be their core belief though.

Yeah Gary's platform will push it wider.
He also had an interview with a New Zealand MP last week who said the issues in her country are exactly the same and once again those in power are distracting from the real issues.

The Greens current traction is the largest I've known it.
 
Just saw the interview with Zack Polanski and Lewis Goodall.

Thought Polanski handled it really well. He doesn't seem to get rattled like Badendoch or as thin skinned as Farage or Tice when he starts getting put under pressure.

I like how he called Labour's bluff the other day too. If they do think Farage is a racist with facist intentions, then surely they would be considering introducing PR for the next election which could arguably be best the route to trying to keep out Reform.

Every interview I've seen he comes across really well, seems a genuinely decent guy. I actually think he's the guy to bring the Greens into serious discussion.

I know quite a few people shifting to them after the broadcast the other day. Ultimately everyday costs are far more important to people than immigration.

I'd vote Green if I thought they could win because the party I have supported all my life, is no longer Labour any more. I may still find myself still voting Labour to keep Reform out.

I get what you mean but I think the reason Reform are performing like they are in the polls is because Labour (and largely the Tories tbf) have enabled it to happen by being completely gutless.

I wasn't expecting miracles from this Labour government but I was hoping that they would be more concerned about improving the lives of middle and working class people. Instead they've spent their time trying to flirt with a right wing demographic that will never vote for them and introduced a sort of beige, insidious authoritarianism wher we're seeing arrests of pensioners at peaceful protests protests.

Even if Labour do win the next election, without a change of leadership/direction, living standards will continue to plummet, Reform will change leadership and likely go with someone even worse than Farage, and then we could have Prime Minister Robinson keying bags of gack in No.10 with his Elon/US funded ICE Agents.

I've voted Labour since I could vote, but I'll be voting Green next time because Labour aren't entitled to my vote just under the guise of stopping the creeping authoritariansim that they've had a hand in opening the door for.
 
I like this guy, i'm listening now.

I'm struggling with who to support and vote for. As a long time member of the Lib Dems it just feels like a wasted vote. Maybe the Green's can overtake?

The recent surge in support has taken membership above that of the Lib Dems for the first time I think. Obviously the Lib Dem parliamentary presence is much larger and it remains to be seen if recent momentum can be sustained. Nonetheless it's promising progress towards building up a base of supporters that could give them a decent ground game. Labour has been hemorrhaging members for a number of years and it's actually hard to work out what is or isn't happening with Reform membership because of the way they present their claims.

If Polanski can build the membership to say 150-200k members and find ways to continue to amplify the message outside (and hopefully a bit inside) mainstream media they may just be a bigger factor going into the next election than might have been thought possible after the last election.

His 'hope' messaging is exactly what the majority of people on this country need right now imo.
 
I admit that I have only seen him speak in his speech the other day, but he is completely misreading the room if he wants to win votes.
And anyone who puts "boom" on the end of a Twitter message needs to grow the fuck up IMHO.

He reminds me a little of Martin Lewis with his look and delivery although not as annoying, i have to remind myself sometimes that people cant help their mannerisms and as a cynic giddy folk can seem odd to me.
Ive never heard too many politicians especially nowadays talking so openly on camera as he did on that video i posted earlier.
If he can keep that going in this modern media world i dont know. He will get grief for it if he becomes too popular.

Yes, I think I've turned into a grumpy old bag in the last few years. I'm very cynical of late ;-)
However, I'm a floating voter (the 3 main parties in the past) so I'm open to listening to different voices.
